The earthquake was about 1000 or more miles from us. We had a smaller
on just after we arrived, but I didn't even feel it. It was unrelated to the
big bad one that killed so many people. We had a great time and felt we mad
a valuable contribution. I want to go back as soon as we can. A totally
different world. One very surprising thing how ever was that the Indian's in
N.E. India are Tribal and Oriental or as the say Mongolian, the same race
who came over to America. Most other Indians are Caucas
Does anyone have information on John Rhea who married Judith Leake in
Rockbridge Co., Virginia on 11 Sept 1810? On the marriage bond his name was
spelled REA. They had a daughter named Jane C. born Knox Co., TN in 1812.
John Rhea/Rea's marriage to Judith Leake is believed to have been his second
marriage. He possibly had daughters from his first marriage who remained in
Tennessee when John and Judith and their daughter Jane C. migrated to
Missouri by the late 1820s.
Jane C. Rhea married in Crawford Co.
Hi Penny,
This Dr. ob. Some of these sound like possibilities for me as there
are Johns, and Robert's. I am back from India, but I have a problem. My
computer crashed shortly after arriving home and everything including all my
addresses and mailing list. My access to Febra's Kids was wiped clean and I
don't know how to re connect. I forgot- Can you help me. Thanks. Dr. Bob!
Dorrie and I will be passing thru Tenn and Ky next week, Lord willing.

If he helped found the Methodist Church in that area. I would look for the
Charter for that church and see if his family is listed as charter members.
Contact that church and ask about getting a copy of the charter. May cost
you alittle, but wouldn't it be great to get a copy to frame.

Many years ago I asked the late Roy Roba, a friend, skilled
genealogist and one-time president of the Iowa Genealogical
Society, to see what he could find out about William J. McCullough
of Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. McCullough, whose wife, Josephine
Mitchell, was a Rhea descendant, collaborated on Rhea family
research during the early 1900s with Frank Hiett Rhea, whose name
pops up occasionally in this forum.
While doing that, Roy happened upon a few other Rhea items,
which he forwarded to me.
