I have always had mixed feelings about this, myself. Being American, I am
accustomed to the MM/DD/YY format, but, when it comes to genealogy, I tende
to use both formats, as my software uses the British standard, which has
become the more widely accepted for genealogical dating. I guess, for the
sake of catering to all audiences, that should rightly be the standard. It
doesn't confuse Brits and most Americans have no trouble with it, either,
once they're accustomed to it.

Do you have the name and e-mail address of the person(s) who contacted you about the William W. GILES/William H. RHEA (sometimes spelled RAY) connection (see pasted message below)? I would like to correspond with them.
I've had computer problems and had no access to e-mails so I may have missed messages the Giles/Rhea researcher has previously submitted to you.
William Henderson Rhea was the brother of my great-greatgrandfather, John Rhea (they were sons of Jesse Rhea and Margaret Blair).

Pat,
When I tried the address for the 1810 Census, it came up saying that the site
could not be found.
I was interested in looking at it, since it has Thomas Rhea listed. This
could possibly be my Thomas Rhea/Rea, since he immigrated from Ireland to
Virginia, and his son, James Rhea/Rea, was born in Greenbriar County, Virginia in
1799.
Please let us know if you have a different address for this site.
Thanks, Pat! Rod
I don't know about you, but for me I don't do things unless I see a clear cut reason.
I never knew why we wrote our dates this way--- 4 Jul 1776
I am always purchasing new genealogy books that might have a site that I haven't visited yet.
This book is titled
The Everything Online Genealogy Book and on page 25 in A Guide for Abbreviations it says
When writing the day, month, and year on charts, place the known month between the date and year. In the U.S. 3/10/1943 would be March 10, 1943, but in Europ
Polly,
I am sorry, I don't keep those messages,. I think it was posted to the list, and I just researched it for that person. I would send a request to the list.

I received this from a researcher for Oh. But believe these names could be a help for other lists as well.

So many of the men or their offspring listed in these rosters moved into the
sourthwestern counties of Ohio--Belmont Co, Washington Co, Monroe Co, Morgan
Co, Noble Co, Guernsey Co--that I believe this information could be helpful to
present and future researchers.
