The term Endowment for the dead, means that someone had there Endowment done
for them after they were dead, usually this is someone on the family tree that
belongs to the LDS church.
Sealed to parents, this is hard to explain, but here goes, the Mormon's
believe that after dead all families will be together, they seal you here to
allow this to be possible in death. This is one of the reason the Mormon's
believe so strongly in Genealogy, you get to know you family that has went

I hope I', not answering someone else's mail. I placed a query on the Rhea
family of
Augusta County, Va and Tn.
My ancestor was Anne Rhea, father was I think, Archibald Rhea. I just joined
the Rhea-L@rootsweb group a couple of days ago.I have a very old chart which
was given to me by a distant cousin in Dallas,Texas. I'm not certain his
information is correct, and the chart is mostly Turks.
I didn't see the names you posted on the chart, but there is, I think, a
connection to the Turk famil

This is my Ray line as well.
John Watson Ray, Jr. married Rebecca Tackett, d/o Francis 'Lying Frank'
Tackett and Martha 'Patsy' Waltrip. Frank was s/o Phillip and Sarah
Tackett. Jim Tackitt, of the Tackett Family Association (on the net) tells
me that Martha 'Patsy' was believed to be an orphan, parentage unknown.
John Watson and Rebecca had (by my files) 13 children including Reuben

G'Day Fellow Seekers,
I'm Seeking information on a marriage between Mary Ray and ??? Davenport.
This marriage probably occured between 1810-1820 in Wilkes or Ashe Co., NC.
Or perhaps just across the border in Virginia.
Mary Davenport was witness for the marriage bonds of both William Ray and
Thomas J. Ray in Wilkes county in the 1820's.
Thanks for any information you might have on any of these folks!
Sincerely,
Ricky Ray

Just a comment which may not help. Many of the names mentioned as

Hi Linda:
I thought I had sent you the information on Lewis and his brother Riley
who married Humphrey sisters. The Humphreys are connected to the
Stephens and Duncan lines. It's a real convoluted family line! There
are still descendants of Lewis and the Humphreys living in OR. They
used to have an annual family reunion, but I didn't hear anything from
them this year. Maybe you can find some of them.
Love,
Polly

At some point in time, there were Simonton and Turk families in Sussex
Co., DE. If I'm not mistaken, there was also a smattering of Rays/Rheas
or something like that there also.
I'm surprised to see someone born 1690 in Augusta Co., VA. Were people
in this area this early? Was Augusta Co., VA., formed by this time? I
think Augusta Co., VA., was formed about 1745 from Orange which was
formed about 1734 and Orange was formed from Spotsylvania which was
formed about 1721. Spotsylvania was formed fr
