Funeral homes as a source of information about your ancestors should be
contacted whenever you hit a brickwall. They keep excellent records about
their customers, and will usually help you find dates about your relatives
that can be used to track down death certificates and cemetery locations.
The funeral and the ceremony that accompanies it have always been very
important. For those who are left behind, a funeral provides a place for
family and friends to gather for support and to reminisce; an opportun

Here are my elusive Wray/Ray family that I've all but given up hope on.
If someone can see any connection or have any info. I would very much
appreciate it!!
Didimia Wray: we speculate was born around 1805 and according to census
records was from TN (whether born there or not I do not know)
Didimia was the wife of William Tipton and they were married in 1824 in
Morgan Co. Alabama.
The marriage record there has her name spelled as Wray.
I know that She and William went back to TN before 1830 and that D

I know what you mean. My grandmothers nickname when she was young was "RED"
Back then there were so many men with the same names it was necessary to
give them nicknames so they could keep them straight. I do it differently-
I identify them by their wives. Irene

Hi List
Can anyone help me with information on a Foster Ray, born ca. 1800 ??
lived in Logan Co, Ky in 1820 and later in Marion Co. Mo. in 1840.
Looking for
his brother's and sister's, also parent's.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Sandy
I think that this Lewis Ray/Rhea is probably part of the Rev John
Ray/Rae/Rea family. I've been trying to figure out just where he fits.
It's also interesting that his second wife was a Cook. There were some
Cooks connected to the Rev John Rae/Rea family.
I'm thinking that he is the likely son of Aaron Rhea/Rae/Ray and his
wife, Nancy Howell, and a brother to Dicy Rhea who married William Gantt
Perkins.
Ute Perkins, father of William Gantt Perkins, also died in Hancock Co.,
IL. My ancestor, Lucy

I am wondering if perhaps in your research you came across a Lewis RHEA (d.
1849, Hancock Co., Illinois) that you could not connect. He reportedly
settled in Hancock Co. in 1830. Prior to 1830, he lived in Warren Co.,
Tennessee.
So far I have found six children and two wives. I do not know his first
