1. Update -- Attachments [1]
One of our list members was kind enough to remind me that part of the problem with attachments is long messages. Two things sometimes happen with long messages that can cause problems. First, some email programs will automatically take a long message and convert it to an attachment. And some Internet service providers, commercial and other, will either reject a long message (Juno does this or used to do this), or convert the message to an attachment (AOL used to do this, maybe still does). The welcome me
2. Richmond, Edmund and Huldah Frisbie [1]
Fran Sawyer asks for information about the marriage of Edmond Richmond and Huldah Frisbie. Her account differs in just enough particulars to suggest separate source material from Joshua Bailey Richmond's. Joshua Bailey Richmond in 1897 self-published "The Richmond Family 1594-1896" (available from Higginson, or as LDS microfilm 301121), a large genealogical volume. JBR states that "Edmund6 Richmond [page 138, #780] (Ephraim5, Silas4, Samuel3, John2, John1) was born in New Milford, May 3, 1765. He married
3. RICHMOND, Sarah b. 1767, MA>VT [1]

4. Update to Web Site Information [1]
Updating my message from a few weeks ago, the corrected URL for my on-line descendancy and ancestry reports is: http://www.premier1.net/~swanson This will lead you to my personal home page table of contents and then you can follow it to my family history/genealogy page. The sites linked to from this page give a good general idea of the names which I have in my database. Two of the sites take either my ancestry or my wife's ancestry back as far as we have information for. The other two sites take one of
5. Attachments! [1]
Hi Everyone, Just a reminder to all subscribers to the lists I manage on RootsWeb. DO NOT send attachments to the list address. If you have something that requires attachments and it might be of general interest, post a short note to the list and ask people to let you know if they want the information. Then send them the attachment by private email. There are still some email programs out there that get totally messed up with attachments. This is one of my very few hard and fast rules, NO attachments

Eldon Davis (eldcardav@aol.com) writes: >Thanks Bob for answering the Higginson question. Very intrigued by the [Joshua Bailey Richmond] book as I was given those pages that list my ancestors. However because it's $66.50, I was wondering if you could provide a descript[ion of] the book if you have it? For example, how big is the book, is it hard bound, how many pages, does author give his references on how he got info back so far, any photographs, and any other neat features which would entice a family me
8. New tree site! [1]
Dear All, At long last our family tree is now on line! It is still not complete as the notes will have to wait until I have the $10 to register my copy of "Gedpage", but that great little program is well worth it, can you imagine writing over 5,000 html's by hand? There are 11,903 individuals on this tree, check it out, some of them may be yours, too! Enjoy! and if you find people who are yours, good! If you know of people I should have on here, please write!
9. Admin Message - 10/1/97 [1]
Welcome to the month of October, 1997. Certainly seems that this year has been going by way too fast. If you are subscribed to more than one list that I manage you are getting this message once for each list. Sorry for the repeats, but it's just an easier way for me to do things. I am trying to serve two purposes with this message. First, I want to make sure you all realize this list is still around since none of these lists I manage is very active. Second, I want offer some reminders. Keep in mind
10. Re: Richmond genealogy book from Higginson [1]
Thanks Bob for answering the Higginson question. Very intrigued by the JBH book as I was given those pages that list my ancestors. However because its $66.50, I was wondering if you could provide a descriptive words relative to the book if you have it? For example, how big is the book, is it hard bound, how many pages, does author give his references on how he got info back so far, any photographs, and any other neat features which would entice a family member. Thanks Eldon Davis eldcardav@aol.com
11. RICHMOND of Rutland & Northamptonshire [1]
Chet - Your administrative msg reminded me that I have been "lurking" on the Richmond-L for many moons without posting. Although most RICHMOND researchers seem to be concerned with the New England bunch, there are other lines, mine being one. For many years my Ancestors resided in Peterborough, as well as various parts of Northamptonshire & Rutland before coming to America following the Civil War. Researchers are invited to view the Family Group Sheets at my website. Regards, Jerry Richmond mailto: jri

17. Admin: Message vs. Command Addresses [1]
Just a reminder message for anyone on the BEERS, GODFREY, KERN, MONROE, RICHMOND, SPICER, STEARNS or TINGLEY surnames lists which I manage on the RootsWeb server. Messages for the list go to one address, commands, e.g. unsubscribe to a different address, and messages to me specifically go to an entirely different address! A lot of our newer members have been sending their messages to the command list. When that happens the server at RootsWeb forwards the message to me because it doesn't recognize the com

19. RICHMOND, Hiram W., b ca 1798 [1]
One of my wife's lines is the Richmond family which married into her Godfrey family. I've included some brief information on 3 generations of Hiram Richmond's descendants. I'd be interested in getting more information on the families of his children, other than Matilda. Matilda is my wife's g-g-grandmother and I can offer fairly detailed information on her family. Hiram W. Richmond born 1798, Holliston, Middlesex County, Massachuset, married ABT 1820, Betsey Martin, born 1798, New York, died 20 Feb 187
20. Admin: Low Volume Lists [1]
Just a reminder to anyone subscribed to the BEERS, GODFREY, KERN, MONROE, RICHMOND, SPICER, STEARNS or TINGLEY lists here on RootsWeb. These lists are not very high volume lists. It is not uncommon for there to be several days, or even longer, between messages on these lists. Just because you are not getting regular messages DOES NOT mean that you are no longer subscribed to the list. DO NOT try to subscribe to your list again just because you don't think you're getting enough mail. All that does is ge
