1. [RIGENWEB] Old Stone Bank books [1]
Hi Everyone, I have 2 hardcover books entitled: "The Old Stone Bank" History of Rhode Island. I bought these books and a few more from a 2nd hand used book store in Newport while I was on vacation in RI doing genealogy a few years ago. One book is published in 1929 and Vol II in 1931. Vol II by John Williams Haley "The Rhode Island Historian". There are about 60 bios and stories in each book. The biographies and stories are each 1, 2 or 3 pg long. On the front cover both books say "Published in Co

3. [RIGENWEB] Re: RIGENWEB-D Digest V03 #301 [1]
Hi, Jim: Duby's Grove was a recreation spot for clambakes and company outings in the 1930' and into the 40's. It was located at the end of Vine Street in the Lakewood Section of Warwick, Rhode Island. It was next to the Pawtuxet River although I do not recall if there were swimming activities there. The trolley car from Providence (then the United Electric Railways) came up Broad Street in Providence into Cranston, then down (south) Warwick Avenue to the sharp bend at Waite Avenue and then into brush

Hi Susan, This is Gloria (ALBRO) Silverman from the Albro Journal (www.albrojournal.com). Phil Albro and I have this website together in which I recently posted the Albro's listed in the cemetery transcripts. You may recall that Phil wrote to you to ask for permission to use that info and create a link to the transcripts, which you were so kind to say yes. I really am grateful for your site it always helps me in my daily research to find people and even place some of the unknowns into the right famil

9. Re: [RIGENWEB] Requesting records from the Health Department in Providence [1]
Hi Nancy - I didn't see anyone answer yet. The Dept of Health is where you go to get any of these RI vitals births and marriages after 1901 and deaths after 1951- But they cost $15.00 whether they find them or not. The state archives has Births and Marriages: 1853-1901 (statewide index available) Deaths: 1853-1951 (statewide index available) Before 1853 you have to go to the individual cities and towns, or at least know the city or town to get a microfilm copy from the archives. They cost 15 cents

11. [RIGENWEB] Re: Allen/Northup/Whaley [1]
Scant information, but wondering if this Nancy is a Northup: I have a Henry Allen married to a Nancy N. They had at least 2 children, sons James Northup b 1815 in SK and Daniel Records or Richard b 7 Oct 1821 SK. The middle name of Northup made me wonder if Nancy N. was a Northup? And while I'm asking, can anyone place Henry Allen in a family?
