Looking for information on my g-grandmother, Roberta Roberts, her sister
Evie Roberts, and my gg-grandparents, Augustus and Louisa Roberts (parents
of Roberta and Evie). There were other children of this marriage also.
Apparently they lived in/near Atlanta, GA and one word I have is that he was
a judge.
Anyone with connection or info please post.
Thank you,
Donna Thurman Howland

Hi,
I just had another thought go through this brain on finding my stubborn
ancestor. Since no agency in NY seems to have any BMD records of him and
find out what church or JP may have married him and his wife, Harriet
Stockwell, my next thought would be, how do I find and to whom would I write
to see if he was eligible to vote. He was born in 1812 so by 1833 he would
be able to vote. What kind of information was required back then when they
registered?
I have so many questions in trying to find this m
Ah, just remembered. Mahlon & Chilian were the sons of Naomi from the
story of Ruth. That's where the famous line so often used in weddings
comes from: "Entreat me not to leave thee. . ."

I am attempting to locate any information on an Elizabeth Roberts who
was born in MO in 1833. She married James D. Hicks in Knox Co., MO in
1848. The census for 1850 shows only one Roberts, a Reding Roberts,
for Knox Co. Can anyone tell me if Reding is in Knox Co. in 1840, and
if so, what information is shown for him. I would like to see if
there could be any connection between Elizabeth and Reding.
Thanks for any help.

All this Sarah Roberts activity has inspired me to post mine, and her
brother-my great great grandfather. Maybe I'll break through my Roberts wall.
I can verify through Harry Roberts, who's death certificate and grave
records indicate that he was born on January 1, 1850 in Shraon, Mercer
County, PA. I'm not at all convinced of this "fact" but that is the only
"official" record I've ever found. His death certificate shows that his
father's name was Thomas Roberts and his mother's name was Sarah. There

I've just begun searching my husband's Roberts

and Henderson County, Kentucky.
Melvin McDearmon Roberts was born 1911 to H.

"Henderson, Kentucky" as his place of birth. I
understand births in Kentucky during this time
period (1870s-1880s) were not often reported--any

Before I start posting the information on the Revolutionary War Graves,

I've subscribed to this list for quite a while now and have only seen a few
listings for Roberts in Florida. My gggrandfather was either born in Key
West, FL or came there as a child. His name was William H. Roberts, don't
know his parents names. He was born around 1845. He married, don't know his
wife's name, and had several children in Key West. I know the names of 3,
Claude, Minnie and Bill. His wife died and at some point he left Key West.
He shows up in the 1850 census for Franklin County,

Let me join the party. My great-great-grandmother was Sarah Ann ROBERTS,
born I think in Winchester, Franklin Co. TN (but possibly in Franklin, TN -
different county) 4/15/1821. She married Gwyn Morrison in Montgomery Co., TX
26 Nov 1838.
I am searching for her parents

Hi,
I do not know why but every time I try to post a message to the Roberts
list, I get an error message back saying it cannot be sent as there is an
error. The message eventually shows up on the list. I am just wondering
what I am doing wrong. The address I am using is:
roberts-l@rootsweb.com
Is there something missing in my address for the list.
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
Well I thought I'd try again with my Roberts/Robbards info in hopes
that someone might have something about them.
Dyman Robbards b. abt 1725 d. June 12 1813 Hamden,Ct. unk. wife
(name as is on gravestone inscription for Dyman)
son Dimon Roberts b. 1750 Ct. d. NY m. Hannah Dickerman b. Aug 17, 1777
Ct. d. Oct 25, 1843 NY
I'm guessing that these Roberts may have been German due to the name mix
up on Dyman's grave marker.
If anyone is related to these people please get ahold of me as I have
My apologies to everyone in my last post
regarding my ROBERT/ROBERTS descendants I was
trying to hurry and get it posted this morning
before I had to make breakfast and was trying to
save space and just kind of botched up the whole
thing. Any way I redid it and have posted it
again below. Hopefully it will make more sense
to everyone. Thanks for your patience with me.

Hi All,
Just thought I'd add my two cents to the Sarah Roberts parade. I also have
a Sarah Roberts ancestor, married Amos Andrews, 1830, in Gloucester, MA.
She was also often referred to as Sally Roberts in the Essex Co. Vital
Records, making it interesting trying to trace the children, as about half
were referenced as children of Amos & Sally, and half as children of Amos &
Sarah.
