1. William Robertson, b. 22 Mar 1761 [1]
Looking for descendants of William Robertson, the son of Col. Charles Robertson. William states in his Revolutionary Pension File (S4790 that he was born 22 Mar 1761 "on the Peedee river." Other sources give his birthplace as North Carolina. He fought in Lord Dunmore's War, at the Watauga Settlements, and at King's Mountain. He is said to have married Delilah Spann. He had a daughter, Susannah, who married Andrew Blackwood. He may have married a second time. He probably had several other children who ar
2. Gen. James Robertson [1]
Dave (and all the gang): Mrs. Lolita Bissell was the original discoverer of the material pertaining to John Roberson/Robertson, Gen. James' father, and, back in 1986, she published her findings in a book called "Cliborn/Claiborne Records." Mr. John Anderson Brayton, in "The Ancestry of Gen. James Robertson 'Father of Tennessee'; addendum to The Complete Ancestry of Tennessee Williams," presented what he believes is a "corrected" and more complete version of the material. Gen. Robertson's parentage has be

On the ROBERTSON ARCHIVES webpage at http://www.shelby.net/shelby/jr/robertsn/archives.htm (which also includes a lot of HEADEN links), at the very bottom, you will find a link to the search engine of the USGenWeb archives. It has just occurred to me that the same search syntax used for the Rootsweb mailing list archives (not presently very useful) will work on USGenWeb archive searches. You will find there now a link to my archive searches help page. You can use this to "go find your own archives", and

6. ROBERTSON, HEADEN deeds [0.983986]
On ROBERTSON ARCHIVES at http://www.shelby.net/shelby/jr/robertsn/archives.htm there are four more of the Washington>Tangipahoa LA deeds uploaded by Lorene Rambo . These deeds will be of interest to both ROBERTSON and HEADEN researchers. Lorene is not a HEADEN descendent, so we particularly appreciate her genealogically public spirited efforts. Lorene promises more, but perhaps after a couple of weeks. I have rearranged the deeds in year order. John

FWIW, searching in USGenWeb Archives at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm (new url), for VA, for PURDIE, you get a goodly number of response

Good Morning Lucy and John, For some reason I didn't get her query. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Elijah Robertson/ Nancy Purdie is one of those lines that I have very little information on. Names of AARON's children came in last year but I lost all my files when I suffered an ISP problem. To get everything realigned I had to load my ISP disc all over again. 21. Spacecraft Robertsons [0.983986]
My search is very easy. I know that Alec and Melly Robertson got off of a spacecraft in Shelby County in 1876 and Melly gave birth to a child they called Ezra A. Robertson. Then they quickly gave birth to 2 more boys, a girl, snapped their fingers and were gone. At least that is what I must conclude. The county doesn't have a record of them - my queries have gone unanswered. If my grandfather had not given me the information about his father, Ezra A. Robertson I wouldn't have that.
