5. McKenzie, Lachlan [0.986001]
I am trying to find info regarding Lachlan (Laughlin) McKenzie born Ross-shire maybe Isle of Skye 25 Dec 1795. Arrived in Quebec Canada pre 1829. Married Janet Harold @ Quebec City 1829. First male child is Donald, then female Christian, then Rebecca, then male Malcolm. A possible parents of Janet are James Harrold & Christian Mode of Orkney. There is a child with name of James. One guess could be that Lachlan's parents could be Donald & Rebecca or Malcolm & Rebecca. Can anyone help? Bob in Canada

Hi Lyndall, Message received okay so the list is functioning. However, it doesn't seem to be very active at the moment. Perhaps everyone should send their interests to get things moving a little more? My interests are: RANKIN - Torridon/Easter Ross MACDONALD/POTTS/RANGER - Stornoway and Killilan MACBEATH - Torridon/Shieldaig/Applecross Of all my lines of research, the Ross-shire ones are the ones I have the least information on, so I would appreciate any info or feed-back from other list members. 9. Isle of Lewis [0.986001]
Hello, I'm researching the names Campbell, Morrison, McLeod, and Bain in Parish Barvas, Isle of Lewis. These families were in the north part of the Isle of Lewis, including Habost, North & South Dell, and Swainbost from 1800 on, and probably earlier. Some members of the family went to Canada 1850-1860 to work for Hudson's Bay Company in Saskatchewan, one to Quebec, another to Boston, Mass., and some appear to have stayed on the Isle of Lewis. Thanks, Vicki Campbell Denton, TX

17. Priest Hill [0.986001]
Linda, I just read your response to Heather with great interest. My 2gr-grandmother Anne Dodds worked at Priest Hill and married John Munro foreman at Rhives in 1828. They had Ann Graham of Milton as witness to two of their children (one of those being my gr grandmother). Of course there may be no real connection but I'm excited to see something as ordinary as a farm in common as it makes their lives so much more personal. Susan

Hi Lesley, I do not have a lot of information on the Harveys. Donald HARVEY, born about 1819 in Inverness Shire, Scotland, married Helen GRAHAM, born about 1817 RossShire, Scotland. Most likely Kilmuir Easter. They may have also been married in Kilmuir Easter. (There is an IGI record stating that Helen Graham married Donald Harvey on 27 June 1837 in Kilmuir Easter, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. I have not checked this out further.) Their children all born in Scotland were: i. George Harvey, born about 1

Hello Heather The only details about my Thomas are a birthdate of between 1792/1796 based on age 45 (rounded down to nearest 5) in 1841 census and that he was not born in Ross-shire but was born somewhere else in Scotland. No confirmed parents or siblings and I still haven't identified his birthdate/birthplace. If the traditional naming pattern applied then his father would be named James, same as his oldest son, and Magdalene's parents would be Robert & Isabella (names of second son and oldest daughter na
