1. Re: [RUDD] RUDD Family Papers [1]
Hi Judy, Yes, we have been quiet - what is everyone up to these days? I'm currently on a county project - entering all of the Champaign County, Illinois burials into a database so that they can be sorted, searched, etc. I haven't heard of anyone accessing the papers you list, but I'd love to know what they contain. Anyone live near Ithaca, NY who could visit the Cornell Library? All the best, Celia >Hello List! > >My, how quiet we've been lately! > >I came across this recently and wondered if a

Hello List! My, how quiet we've been lately! I came across this recently and wondered if anyone has accessed these: Rudd Family Papers, #1636 Division of Rare and Manuscript Collection, Cornell University Library Correspondence, notes and notebooks, printed material concerning the family affairs and genealogy of the RUDD, PORTER, DeFOREST and other related families and including information on the history of Norwich, CT. Wouldn't it be neat if somewhere in these papers is mentioned the name of Jon

8. [RUDD] BOVIE - RUDD Family Photograph Album [1]
I've "rescued" an old photograph album which appears to have belonged to the BOVIE Family of New York. The album contains many identified photographs belonging to this family. Based on limited research I was able to gather quite a bit of information regarding those identified in the album and have included that information along with details of the photographs: BOVIE Family Photograph Album . "Helen", no studio or loc, 1880's, infant . Mary A. BOVIE, taken at the Geo C. Millham Studio in Hoosick Falls,

11. Re: [RUDD] John N. Rudd [1]
Hi, Debi, I looked in the 1880-1920 censuses and think that your John's parents are John and Sarah Rudd and that he was born in Tennessee. The 1900 census 18 Civil District, McMinn Co., TN, has John Rudd, born May 1848, age 52, married 27 years, he and parents born TN, farmer, can't read or write, speaks English; Srah, wife, born Apr. 1848, age 52, married 27 years, 9 children, five living, she and parents born in TN, can't read or write; John, son, born Dec. 1881, age 18, he and parents born TN, f

Hi, Cynthia, I am not familiar with this line. I am sending a copy of this to the Rudd Mail List hoping that perhaps someone else on that list might recognize your family. My Rudd line comes from Jonathan Rudd of Connecticut. I know there are other emigrant Rudds from the Virginia area, and think you might go back to them. Good luck! Demosthenes married Albany Pickard. It this the line you're searching? If so---hello Cousin and you belong to our Virginia line of Rudds. He was the son of William Rudd and Sarah Rebecca Goodson. William was the son of Aldredge Rudd of Chesterfield County, Virginia who married Nancy Ann Hawkins 1 February 1779 in Amelia county, Virginia. Aldredge was the son of James Rudd and Mary Elizabeth Pleasant. James the son of John Rudd and Avis Whitaker. Hope this helps, Becky >From: "Joann H. Nichols"
15. Re: [RUDD] Demosthenes Rudd [1]
I agree! I have found him in the 1850-1880 censuses. I also found that he was in the Civil War and was a prisoner of war. I found when he obtained land in Arkansas on 6 June 1890. The censuses say he was born in Georgia. He had a lot of children, born in various towns. I think he may have had a brother Cicero, who was an invalid, age 29, in the 1850 census. Cynthia, contact me again if you don't have any of the above information. Joann Nichols MILTON & KATHY RUDD wrote: > To have quite a bit o

HELLO COUSIN! Yes, these are my kin, too! I had most of the information you provided for me but you never know so don't stop sharing! do you have the information about Capt. John Rudd? And what about Demosthenes civil war info? Does anyone in the family have a picture of Demosthenes or know more about his death and buriel in Arkansas? I'ev seen the info where he died in the Arkansas State Hospital. Back then, they weren't necessarily commited for being crazy but it was like a nursing home, too.

I am looking for any information on my Great Grandfather John N. Rudd.B I have only immediate family info which is not much.B He was born December 26, 1881 but I don't know where.B I think in Tennessee. He died July 2, 1970 in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee. He married Mary M. "Maddie" Wright born North Carolina They had 3 children.
