I knew that by watching this group
Congratulations on finding a RUDD link! Living in Cincinnati, I have often been
asked if I have relatives in Kentucky or also central Ohio as I think there are
quite a few Rudds in these two areas. Our Rudd ancestors left Nottingham,
England and came directly to Cincinnati, OH in 1848 so I am trying to find
information in England. There were alot of Rudds in Nottinghamshire so if anyone
ever finds a connection to Nottingham, please get in touch with me. Best wishes,
Meg Rudd

Wish someone would tell me, too. I've been on here two or three weeks and
I've seen two queries. Had information I shared on one but never had a
response.
What gives?

Hello List.....I cannot really say that I am a
member of this list, because you and your RUDD
ancestors are all in a different part of the
country. I get all the postings and read them
all, and then I speak up about once a year. As
someone has mentioned a roll call, I will add
mine, since there are always new people coming
through, maybe one of you have not seen or heard
my sad cry. My RUDD ancestor has lead me to
believe that he was born in North Carolina about
1810-15. His name as found on all the censu

Greetings:
Looking for information on Christopher Anthony Rudd, believed to have
lived in Kentucky, died in 1836, married Ann B. Palmer.
Lou Lesesne
Charlotte NC
Sidney Rigdon RUDD's first wife was Eliza Jane HANCOCK; they were
married 14 April 1856 in Crawford, Iowa. Does anyone know anything
about her ancestry and what happened to her.
His second wife was Mary PRATHER.
Thanks for any ideas.

Hi, Peggy, bet you were wondering if we still existed! Guess no one has
any info to share or questions to ask on this Rudd list!

Lou--
There were two, or possibly three, primary Rudd lines in America, and the
one I belong to hails from New England, specifically Connecticut. However,
I belong to a research group that has members from the other lines, and I
know that someone in the group can help you. I'm forwarding this message to
the group, and you should receive a response from one of the folks who
shares your line. Thanks for writing, and good luck!

Maybe what we need is a roll call where everyone shares their Rudd
line. Mine started in Connecticut, went to Vermont, then New York,
then west; these are my Rudd ancestors:
Lt. Jonathan Rudd/unknown spouse
Nathaniel Rudd/Abigail Hartshorn
Joseph Rudd/Sarah Moseley
Increase Rudd/Bathsheba Johnson
Johnson Rudd/Abigail Brown
Leonard Rudd/Sarah DePuy
Albert William Rudd/Elvira Watts
Florence Eudora Rudd/Andrew Jackson Hartle
Archie Jason Hartle/Opal Elizabeth Stewart
Hazel May Hartle/Roland Theodore Smith
I found a book about the history of Dow City, Iowa. It was in the genealogy
center at the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum in Washington
D.C. The following Rudd was listed:
A.Z. Rudd, son of John R. Rudd and Serelda Jordan, b. March 14, 1858,
married Sarah Hammon of Wisconsin.
A.Z. was a brick layer and veteran of the Civil War. He served in the 15th
Iowa Infantry. He was postmaster.
A.Z. stands for Alvin Zarahelma
Hope this helps someone!
Betty
Hi Debbie,
I'm embarrassed to say I didn't write it down. It was written in the late
1800's. I'm pretty sure the title was, "The History of Dow City"...sorry
