Hi
When I read your listing on the list about Hannah Ryckman I was so in
hopes that this was the Hanna Ryckman that I am looking for. She was my
husbands family, but it wasn't her.
Have you ever seen the Ryckman Family Genealogy that Sharon Marshall (she
lives in Canada) wrote in 2002. She wrote: Reflections of Our Ryckman
Past (History); Reflections of Our Ryckman Past (Volume 1: Niagara);
(this is where my Husbands Family is); Reflections of Our Ryckman Past
(Volume 2: Bay of Quinte)?

Am seeking an obituary for Hannah Marianne (RYCKMAN) McCRUM, b. Oct. 22, 1834 in Ontario, Canada; d. February 9, 1922 probably in Detroit, Michigan and buried in Ingersoll, Oxford District, Ontario, Canada.

Hello fellow researchers -
Some of you probably know that I read and answer a lot of
questions on various genealogy mailing lists. I've been
doing this for years but I decided that starting in 2009 I
would use a slightly different method.
Don't get me wrong, I am still going to respond to mailing
list queries whenever possible. But I thought there was a
better way to help other researchers, so I started a Blog

Greetings List Members!
I have just joined the RYCKMAN mailig list.. While I haven't actively
researched the Ryckman line in my family tree, here is a brief synopsis of
my connection. Maybe someone knows more about my 'branch' of the family.
1. Henry BUCKHOUT (or BOOKHOUT - many variations of Dutch origin)
[originally of NY State] married Mary E. RYCKMAN on March 18, 1861 in
Cramahe Twp, Northumberland Cty, Ont. This was Henry's fourth marriage. His
parents were John & Anna BUCKHOUT and he was born a
I would appreciate any help on my Markle line! Especially to find the parentage of these three siblings; George S. Markle b 1819, Robert S. Markle b 1809, and Anna Markle b 1816 who married David Ryckman. I believe they were all born in Wentworth County, Canada. Prior to that, their father came from Pennsylvania.
This is what I have been able to put together.
*****George S. Markle was born Jan 1 1819 in Canada West.
He married in 1842 to Sarah Marie Brown in LaPorte, Indiana, then moved to New York,
Dorothy,
Thank you for the quick respone. David Ryckman was for NY, but I do not
know which town or county. I believe he met his wife Anna Markle in Canada
West. Anna Markle was born in 1816 in Canada West ( I assume Wentworth
County or some nearby county).
It seems this Markle family and Ryckman family followed each other into New
Buffalo, Mich and Clarksville, Iowa.
Thanks again for your response, It's nice to know others have there eyes
open for me!!

Thanks for looking for the Ryckman's for me. All I know is that David
Ryckman married Anna Markle. She was born in Canada West. abt 1816. David
Ryckamn and Anna Markle had a child Cecelia Ryckman in 1843 in Iowa, before
Iowa became a state! In the 1880 census Mich census records, it states that
another two son's William and David and it goes to say that their father,
David Ryckman was born in NY. I believe there might have been another
brother named George Ryckman. He maybe the one that was

Those who have been on this list for awhile know we seem
to go through surges of interest, and surges of postings.
Or folks find their ancestor and move on. There seems to be
a surge of interest every Jan/Feb, I'm not sure why, then
the postings begin to dwindle.
To get this list running full speed ahead, we need
subscribers to post and to help others search.
So, if have not contributed a post recently this is the
