HI cousins:
I had a very brief encounter with the NEHGS library in Boston this past
Friday. What a great resource! In the short time that I was there, this is
what I found:
1.) Birth Records, Death Records (1728-1836), and Baptism Records (1679-1836)
from Westfield, MA. These were transcribed from Church and Town Records in
the 1930s. I couldn't copy everything, but I did copy all Sackett births and
Deaths, and the index for the Baptism records.
2.) I mad copies of pages mentioning John Sackett ("Sackut"

Hi Cousins and Friends:
I am Patty Sackett Chrisman--I was one of the earliest subscribers to the
list, but I have been one of the quiet ones lately. I grew up in Portland,
Oregon, but have lived on the East Coast since I was married. My husband,
Stephen, three year old son James, and I currently live in Brooklyn, New

Buildings, etc.) and I am very interested in Early American History--thus all
this genealogy is great fun for me.

1764-1846? >>
Welcome to the Sackett Group.
I desend from Justus through his son Homer b. 1765, Warren, CT (Salmon's
brother). Then Orange, Frances (m. Daniel Lacy), Harriet (m. George Carman),
John Lacy Carman, Philip Sackett Carman, then me.
So, does that make us sixth cousins?

wife of John? Thanks, Cindy

Sackett Cousins,
I went to the Los Angeles Central Library's History and Genealogy department
this afternoon (after a great tour of the Los Angeles County Emergency

I found some great information on Col. Orange Sackett. But still can't find
much on his father, Homer Sackett. Does anyone have any good leads for me to
find more information on Homer Sackett?

Dear Ruth;
I have a bunch of these one liners that I got of the internet. Like these.
You may be a farmer if -
-Your dog rides in your truck more than your wife.
-You convince your wife that an overnight, out-of-state trip for equipment
parts is a vacation.
-You wear specific hats to farm sales, livestock auctions, customer
appreciation suppers and vacations.
-You have ever had to wash off in the backyard with a garden hose before
your wife would let you in the house.
I found out about you writing ab
I think this falls into the category of boring but useful !!
Frustrated at the problem of figuring out abbreviations in old documents and
texts and on old family trees, I started keeping a record of them on
computer so that I had a quick reference for the next time.
If anyone has any more do please let me know.
