I am looking for HENRY H SANDERS that lived in St. Louis, Missouri around
1894 or 1895. He had buried a loved one named HELENA SANDERS, in the family
lot, but I do not know idea who either of these people is. She could be a
daughter, wife, sister or mother. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I have noticed on several web sites that "Potters Field" is sometimes listed
in the cemetery sites.
Just out of curiosity, why is it that "poor people's" cemeteries are
referred to as "Potters Field". How did this terminology begin?

My Grandfather was Charles H Sanders and lived in Wayne County and Cabell
County but not able to find anymore about him. He married Nancy Margaret
Napier of Wayne County. He was born abt 1860. He died 1928

The term "potters field" comes from the Bible, Matthew 27:6 and 27:7 in
which is described the burial of Judas Iscariot. In those days potters dug
in fields of clay for material to make bowls, jugs, etc. Clay was only good
for making pottery, not for growing crops, medicinal herbs, flowers, etc.
