Hello everyone. On another surname list that I'm on there is a lady named
Sue Roe who is doing a series called Sue's Cook Book with recipes of how to
do certain genealogy things. I've been very impressed with her articles and
see where they would be beneficial to all of you. I've asked her permission
to forward them to you all as they come out. As of right now she is on
recipe 6 so I'm going to forward 1-5 out rather slowly until we get caught up
then the others as she sends them in. I hope you all enj

YES! I finally found out what to tell you about this question! Now, it
looks rather complicated to me but if some of you try it let me know how it
turns out.

I am trying to compile a list of movies in which the theme is searching for
your family roots. I have come up with three already, "A Family Thing",
"Twins", and (believe it or not!) "Aladdin and the King of Thieves". I
recently rented "A Family Thing" and I really enjoyed it. For a quick
synopsis of these movies, see my Genealogy Songs and Movies page at:

If you can think of any other movies in which the main theme is someone

give helpful hints for doing genealogical research. I'm going to call my

things. I hope this will be helpful to many of you.

Dear Dana,
Funny you should ask about the SS office. I wrote last October
requesting the records for a deceased grandmother. I had forgotten all
about it until I got my letter back from them last week with a form
asking me to send them $7.00. If I didn't know the SS#, the charge would
have been $16.50. There is no form to fill out, unless you want to
charge it. Just include all pertinent info in a letter. They do not
want a SASE with your request. I hope it doesn't take another 8 months
to get the re

HOME SOURCES
In beginning genealogical research, you always begin with yourself and work
back one generation at a time. Therefore, the first step will be to do a
thorough job of searching your "home sources." These are the things that can
be found right in your home or the homes of your parents, aunts, uncles,
cousins, etc. If you do a good job on this step, the next steps will be much
easier! The idea here is to contact every single living relative
Dear SANDERS and DANIEL list members,
I get so busy with the maintenance of the list that I sometimes forget to
post my query. We're growing everyday and some of you that are new may not
have seen this so I'm going to post it again. The reason I post this to both
list is because separately I have very little on these two families and them
being so closely related I tend to think of them as a whole.

I am seeking parentage, wife, and siblings for one Lewis Saunders who had at
least
three daughters: Elizabeth, Harriet, and Malinda, all of whom were married
in Botetourt
Co., VA. My ancestress is Malinda who married Winston Coley, 24 January
1839.
William G. Saunders served as a bondsman for their marriage and I had guessed
he
might have been Malinda's brother. I located Lewis on the 1820 census for
Bedford Co.,
VA. , but the first of the above marriages in Botetourt Co., VA., was 1828.

Hello to all. Well the donation deadline has come and gone. I very thankful
to all who participated. I must admit that you out did any expectation I may
have had :-)! If you have sent a donation and I have not sent you
confirmation of its arrival please let me know so I can wait another couple
of days before sending to rootsweb. I'm going to wait 48 hours to see if
anyone sends me e-mail saying "it's in the mail" and if I don't hear anything
I'll be sending the donation out on Friday.

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great summer.
First, the bad news...It seems the spammers have found us at rootsweb and
some of the lists have been bombarded with spam. For those of you who
weren't with us when MAISER was shut down let's go over the meaning of
spam...Spam is UNSOLICITED and UNWANTED junk e-mail! Okay, now the not so
bad news--to eliminate the possibility of the MAISER incident from happening
again the folks at Rootsweb suggested to us listowner to make our list NON

Hello researchers,
If there is some one out there who is researching
the surname SANNDERS with an ARMSTRONG connection
in the state of Mississippi? If so, please let me
hear from you. I recently found a grandmother,

Finding this grandmother has opened a new line
for me, and I know nothing whatsoever about the
ARMSTRONG surname and its history. Add that to
the trouble I am having finding SANDE
