Because of the catastrophe that happened in the United States Tuesday,
11 Sept., 2001, MyFamily.com (RootsWeb.com and Ancestry.com) has
created a special Message Board for those who wish to express or share
condolences, sorrow, prayers, and thoughts for the victims, their
families and friends.
However, this is not a board for discussion on how the U.S. should
resolve this issue or about how the search for those responsible is
going.

Hi, Listers!
With the warm days of summer most of us are looking forward to vacations,
and to trips in search of our ancestors. I thought that it was a good time
to remind everyone of good mailing list subscriber manners when it comes to
vacations and time out of the office.
This is the time of year when mailing list administrators begin receiving
returned mail notices that say the subscriber is "over quota" or "exceeds
quota" or "mail box full." Another problem that I've noticed recently is
that
Dr. W. David Samuelson just sent the following to TOMBSTONES-L. I know that
many of you feel as strongly as I do that destroying any cemetery is just
plain wrong. To destroy a battlefield and cemetry is destroying our history
and heritage, and destroying the resting place of our soldiers should not
be tolerated.
Please, if you forward this, copy and paste into a new message.

Hi Leona,
I am working on my family history and some time ago I learned that my Slovak grandmother Rosalia Krasnansky Sidlik's mother was Theresia Sandtner born November 6, 1862 in the village of Limbach, Slovakia.
I understand the Sandtner family lived in Limbach for many generations and Limbach was a German settlement
I thought that with Veterans Day coming up Monday some of you might want to
learn more about it

And I thought some of you might want to visit a digital, interactive version
of the Vietnam Memorial

Both URLS appeared on another mail list that I subscribe to.

It's the time of year when many folks get new computers and discover the
wonderful world of the Internet, online genealogy, and mailing lists for the

I just wanted to remind everyone that this is the time of year that all the

If you're ancestors arrived in New York before Ellis Island opened chances
are they landed at Castle Garden. The database of immigrants isn't complete
yet, but there are "10 million records." The data is searchable and it's
