Do you know any of your Grandfathers' siblings name? Try looking for them. Sometimes the transcribers couldn't make out the handwriting very well. They could also have lived somewhere other than NC.

Teresa,
I found this entry on Ancestry.com. It is kind of long, but I'm going to cut and past the whole thing.
Here is the description of where it came from:

Dear Terri Sprague, Doy Louise G., and Dora Albrecht,
Thank you for responding to my inquiry. What a nice "bunch" of people you are.
Terri, I don't know any of my grandfather's siblings or if he had any. The court records you sent are very interesting. Although Kitchin's wife's name was Sarah, I suppose this "Sally Savage wife of Kitchen Savage" could be she. I never heard that they lived in SC, but I certainly will investigate. Thanks.
Doy, I would not be a bit surprised if my Savage ancestors first
Hello everybody,
I am a new member. My grandfather was Rowland Lee Savage,
b. 1871 in Halifax Co. (I believe) d. 1941 in Vance Co, NC.
When Mama and Grandma were alive, I had no interest in who my ancestors were. Now that there is no one left to answer my questions, I want desperately to know. (Isn't that what happens to most of us?)
I remember that Grandma said that Rowland's father was Kitchin Savage. From Rowland's grave stone I know that his mother's name was Sarah. I know that Rowland's "peop

Hi Teresa, and welcome to the Savage list,
You will most likely be hearing from someone or more than one someones
re: the name Rowland Savage. The name Rowland Savage is first found on
the eastern shore of VA -- b. possibly ca. 1633-4 in Accomack Co., VA.
I know that I have seen the name "Kitchin" (other spellings, too, I
believe) Savage, but don't find him in my computer. I hope you will hear
from someone who can give you more information! I will look forward to
more discussion on the list.

Dear Audrey,
I appreciate your response to my inquiry. I had seen that entry on the 1880 census. My Rowland should have been 8 or 9 in 1880.
I know Rowland's mother's name was Sarah. Her other name, I think, was Eugenia. I don't know whether it was Sarah Eugenia or Eugenia Sarah. For these reasons I came to the conclusion this was not my Rowland. However, thanks for sending me the info.
I just sent an e-mail to the person you suggested that I contact. I'll know in a little while if the address i
Dear Audrey,
The e-mail address you gave me, CAnder9267@aol.com must not be current. The e-mail I sent her bounced. Do you know of any other way to get in touch with her? Does she subscribe to this list?
Thanks for trying to help.
