I saw a couple of your entries on the msg board regarding John Davis.
I am researching a John Davis m. Nancy (?Buffalo(e)) from SC. I have a William Rufus Davis, the son of Thomas Calhoun Davis, the son of John Davis.

Thank you for your reply, but I think we are from two different clans.
My John Davis was born 9/7/1788 and married Nancy Roberts about 1816. There is not a Thomas Calhoun among their ten children.

Try the courthouse but a lot of records were burned or lost etc. I have a book of Collection of Upper South Carolina Genealogical and Family Records, that is where that one came from.
