Does anyone know of any problems with the Rootsweb e-mail surname/location
lists? I am on maybe two dozen of the lists. I have not gotten any
postings in roughly the last 24 hours which is highly unusual. Even on
"slower" days I get around 10 of something and on "busier" days over 25 or
so. I have checked with my local ISP provider and everything seems to be
working. Test messages coming through from ISP and I can get on the
Rootsweb home page, etc.

Dear List Adm. and members (Edgefield, Barnwell, Aiken),
I seem to be missing messages from these lists and probably some others too
that I don't kow about.
I sent the following message to the lists about not getting any messages
for about 24 hours from about 2 dozens lists in all which is very unusual.
The messages never came back to me on the lists, but I got two answers. One

trip from California to Edgefield and who might share
I don't know if this is your problem, but there have been ongoing problems with RootsWeb
for several months. I've had messages finally show up on a list several days later. Many
lists have been down intermittently. So, it may not be your computer settings.

My great uncle, W. R. Puckett's occupation was butcher in 1880 and I would like to know how to find out where or who he worked for. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I too have noticed that at times, all of my lists (there are many) seem to just disappear and dry up. Then all of a sudden, I get about 200 messages from the lists.
I think it is just a quirk of the net, but I'm not sure.

Please excuse me if you get this message more than once. I need help in finding information on Henry Chapman that had sisters Emma, Sallie and Lula (maybe known as Elizabeth) and Mary. I know a lot of people have help me put information together but there is still one person I can not find and that is Henry Chapman I have been told that Earl was a girl and she was crippled at birth. This family was in Ridge Spring/Batesburg/Leesville/Ward SC in 1880-1944.

Does anyone have a clue how this problem might be resolved? I haven't heard
from a number of lists in months and months. In fact, this is the only I hear
from on a daily basis. I would love to be getting mail from all the lists so
I personally would like to see the problem fixed. Does anyone know who we
might contact???

Dear Daughter,
Someone may have already e-mailed you this information, but for whatit is
worth. Apparently your mother is subscribed to the Barnwell
District/County, South Carolina, e-mail list at rootsweb.com. It is not
necessary for you to repond to all the e-mail she is geting from this list.
I got several respondses from you because of my recent postings. She gets
all of the postings to thelist. Subscribers just delte the message in which
You can ussubscribe by following the direction at rootsweb.
Have you looked at Ridge Spring Cemetery, I thought I saw the Stromans name
on tombstones, I will check next time I get that way.

Thanks for your reply. I live in Houston, TX and have never been to
Barnwell County. I did go to Orangeburg to look at the Stroman papers they
have but unfortunately, the library was closed and I only had one day. I
would appreciate you looking for me if it is not inconvenient. The records
in the late 18th and early 19th century seem to be non-existent except for
land titles.
My sister married a Chapman in Mt. Pleasant, TX sixty-five years ago. I
know nothing of their genealogy which is why said I cou
Dear List Members,
I am replyng to the FRANKLIN/MARTIN query copied below that was posted to
the Edgefield County, SC, list. I am cross posting my reply to the Aiken and
Barnwell lists.
I am interested in proving or disproving any early FRANKLIN/TOOLE
connections in this area. I have a double TOOLE line out of Barnwell
District/County, South Carolina. I have a genealogy file with just these
Toole lines in it along with other connections in the area.

Is anyone researching the HATCHER,LANDRUM,CARPENTER, WHITLOCK,RANDAL,
SWEARINGEN, and other related families in the area south of what became
Trenton and the Pine Log House in Edgefield/Aiken Distric and/or Counties,
South Carolina??? I also have a double TOOLE line in Barnwell as well. I
triple post to all three lists because there was some migration back and
forth before Aiken County was created. Some people are on one list and not
the others.

Dear List Members,
Again I am cross posting because of the county line changes and each list
has a different membership. Please excuse the duplication.
I am still trying to sort out all the HATCHERS and their connections in the
Edgefield District, South Carolina area, especially the descendents of
Benjamin Hatcher, Rev. Sol. and his wife, Lucy _?_. There were other
Hatchers in the early census with no indication of how they were related to
Benjamin. They either died without leaving surviving records or
