Hi,
My ancestor , ANN STANDARD , according to Bible records , was born
Oct. 21 , 1763 , and was married to JOHN HODGES , who was born in
Greenville , S.C. I have been told that ANN and JOHN lived in CHERAW
DISTRICT , though I have no proof of that. There was , however ,
according to the 1800 S.C census index , a JOHN HODGES listed in
Darlington , and a William Standard listed there as well. It is
BELIEVED that ANN STANDARD was the daughter of a CAPT. WILLIAM
STANDARD of CHERAW , though I have no documentat
Currently looking for any connectio between my gggrandfather and any

pension, he was born in Darlington Dist., in 1831. His family moved to
AL before 1839. Then they moved into FL. His father is possibly Eli
Nobles first found in the Conecuh Co., AL census in 1840. But I have no
proof. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Hello,
Is there a book (s) on cemeteries in the Darlington District? I am
looking for any Barwick (Berwick), Connell, Weeks, Thigpen that were
buried there around the last of 1700's or 1800's. Was this area ever
part of North Carolina? Does anyone know the adjoining counties on the
North Carolina side?
Thank You,

Thank you to the list members who responded to my question yesterday
about how to obtain the book , "The History of the Old Cheraws". I
really appreciate the help. NOW I need help locating the "Jessie Lotta
Hodges Records". I have been told that this book will help immensely

to buy the book , but if I can't do that , would just love to know
where a copy might be found in a library , etc. Thanks in advance for

Hi again list members,
I forgot to add this in my last post.Does anyone know anything about a
cemetery in the Darlington area that has a lot of STANDARDS buried in
it? If there is such a cemetery , does anyone know if there is a
written record that has been published regarding the burials there. If
such a record exists , would someone be willing to do a lookup for me?
Thanks so much.

Hello, i sent a msg but it must be too big and will not show to the list.
There is an old cemetry in Darlington somewhere named STANDARD - would love
to have a look up on who is buried there and also where I can find the
books "History of Old Cheraw" and "Jesse's Lotta Hodges". Hope someone on
the list will recognize some of these names.
some of the names assosciated with our STANDARD is NORWOOD, WADDELL,
HARRELL. and BUCKHOLTS - all moved to the new East LA & MS Terr. after the
purchase in 1803.
