Thelma Mozelle Cooper Jordan, wife of the late Arthur Buist Jordan, Jr.,
died after declining health, at Dillon Healthcare, Inc. (Pines Nursing Home) on
Thursday, 18 January, 2007.
Mrs. Jordan was 102 years old and had been in the Thorne Retirement Center,
Lake View, for two years prior to moving to The Pines Nursing Home in December
2002.
Mrs. Jordan was born 3 November, 1904 at Buffalo Pond near the town of

CONWAY | Leroy Leverne Richardson, 78, of French Collins Rd., passed
away Sunday, December 31, 2006 at his residence following an illness.
Mr. Richardson was born in Bennettsville, a son of Beulah Richardson
McDowell.
He was a member of East Conway Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retired
painter.
Mr. Richardson was predeceased by his wife Myrtie Lee Richardson.
He enjoyed fishing and eating on the river with family and friends, but most
importantly was his great love and faith for

Church, and was a homemaker. She was the widow of the late Rev. Enoch Caulder.

CONWAY | Nellie Kate Stephens Miles, 80, of Pebble Lane, wife of the
late Willie ''Bill'' Miles, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 9,
2007.
Mrs. Miles was born September 11, 1926 in Dillon County, South Carolina, a
daughter of the late Henry and Laura Hyatt Stephens.
She was a member of the Conway Church of God, where she was very active.
Mrs. Miles will be missed by her family, church family and many friends.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Dempsey; two brothers
Mrs. Marjorie Long Bass, 69, entered the Church Triumphant on Thursday,
January 4, 2007. Born in Kingstree, SC, she was the daughter of the late
Lorenza Dowe (L.D.) Long, Sr. and the late Minnie Altman Long. Marjorie graduated
from Brevard Junior College, Brevard, NC, Columbia College, Columbia, and
Francis Marion University, Florence. She taught in the public school system for
28 years, including Saluda High School in Saluda, Johnsonville High School
in Johnsonville, Southside Junior High
Services for Timothy Wayne Walters will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Cooper
Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be
held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mr. Walters, 44, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Sumter, SC, May 29, 1962, he was the son of Minnie Melton Elvington
and the late Dewey Walters and Howard "Fuzzy" Elvington. He was a U.S. Army
