YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY THE USGENWEB AT http://usgenweb.com AND CHECK OUT
THE ARCHIVES AND CEMETERIES FOR S. C., PARTICULAR THE KERSHAW COUNTY. GOOD

First, I apologize to those who will see this more than once. I am cross-posting.

For any new folks on the list, I would like to invite you to visit my webpage to take a look at the Maternal side of the website. Virtually all of my maternal people were from the areas of Kershaw and Lancaster Counties, since very early on. If you see familiar names in my site, please contact me and we'll compare notes.

Just went in and subscribed. Hopefully this will work out well for us.
I've been very disappointed with other BAKER lists.
Is there any way for you to adjust the website so that it's not a page and a
half wide?

Would anyone be able to suggest where one would write to obtain a copy of an obituary from the 'Camden Chronicle' or other local paper for 1963?
My mother, Ida Macpherson Clark, died on 23 January 1963 in Hot Springs, VA, but she was a long-time resident of Camden, and she is buried in the Quaker Cemetey in Camden.

Dolores,
I suggest that you go to McAffee's website and download VirusScan (its free)
if you do not already have it installed. I received an e-mail from your
e-mail address today with a virus attached in a file named "card.pif". I am
sure it was unintentional and my virus software caught it...others may
not...this type of virus replies/sends itself to unsuspecting victims in your
address book or responds directly to e-mail (which was the case here)...the
reply was to a message subject "Re: Re: [SCK
I'm sorry the correct address is www.scobits.homestead.com
That should get everybody in.

PLEASE contact the Chronicle Independent. I sent all of the addresses. That
paper prints EVERY obit. Out of State or in. Notice was always filed when a
person was sent to Quacker or any of the other local cemeteries. 1963 is not
that far back! please keep looking.
Mary

Many thaks to all the listers who responded to my query about my mother's 1963 obit.
After going through the list posted to the Kershaw County Archives site, sad to say there was none listed for her. I can only imagine that the funeral home somehow goofed - probably because it would have involved an out of state death certif.
