1901 : leave United States for Africa with a Tuskegee Expedition to
the German Colony of Togo (West Africa)
Created an Agricultural School to teach Cotton growing to natives

Married to Samuel Hunter of Kershaw Co. on Feb.13,1869. They lived in
Kershaw Co. They had 18 childern. She died on Dec.12 1929 and is buried
@ Shiloh Methodist Church cemetery in Kershaw Co.I would like to know
who her parents were,we has always been told that she was part indain.

Searching for additional information about Redmond Roscoe (AKA Redman Roscoe or Redmond Menders).
He was born 6 March 1894 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. His parents were John Menders, who changed his sur name to Roscoe between 1900 and 1910, and Martha "Pent" Jones (AKA Steen) Roscoe.
In the 1900 cnsus of Marlboro County, S.C., Brightsville Twp., ED# 89, sheet # 102-A,written page # 15, house and family # 274, Redmond Menders, age 6, was enumerated in the household of his parents.

Redmond E. Roscoe was living in High Point, NC in 1964. He went to Conway,
Horry County, SC to visit his son and he died there on 26 December 1964. He is
buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Conway. Redmond E. Roscoe was married to
Pearl Driggers who was born in Marlboro County, SC 15 July 1915 and died 1
February 1997 in Chehalis, Washington.
