McCOLL, S.C. - The Rev. Norman H. "Buford" Caulder, 64, of McColl, died
Thursday, July 8, 2004.
The Rev. Caulder owned Caulder Construction. He served as pastor of several
churches and did missionary work in Central America. Mr. Caulder was a
member of Daniel Chapel Holiness Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in McColl Church of God.
Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers
Funeral Home of McColl.

CHADBOURN, N.C. -- Mr. Ira Alexander "Alec" Quick, 75, of Chadbourn, N.C.,
died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence.
He was a native of Marlboro County and the son of the late Henry Charlton
and Louise Wallace Quick. Mr. Quick was a retired major with the N.C.
National Guard after 24 years of service. He was a former editor of the
Dillon Herald in Dillon and was the editor of the Columbus County News
(News/Times), Chadbourn, N.C., from 1982 to 1992.

late Leroy and Beulah McCormick Allen. He was the widower of Virginia Norton

Hello, I'm trying to find any and all records concerning Prettyman
Berry (often mispelled Pritman, Preteman etc.). I have tracked him to a
land purchase in the Cheraw District of South Carolina.
In 1800, the Cheraws District was abolished and the area's of Cheraws
became the modern day counties of Chesterfield, Marlboro, Darlington,
and part of Florence.
Does anyone know where I could find records pertaining to the old
Cheraw District? Maybe a deed book or maybe a Last Will and Testament of Pre

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. | Mrs. Isabel Chapman Paysinger Alford, 85, died July 9,
2004 at her residence after an illness.
Mrs. Alford was born August 29, 1918 in Clio, S.C., a daughter of the late
Albert S. Paysinger and the late Lura B. Paysinger. Mrs. Alford retired from
the Charleston County School System. She was a resident of North Charleston
for 61 years. She was also a past member of Eastern Star-Omar Temple and a

ARKANSAS. Mamie was the great-granddaughter of Benjamin Bridges Jr., and
Mary Cival Henagan. She grew up near her great-aunt, Eliza Hightower
Bridges Marguth, who left so much of the family history in interviews with
