Hi Sam, The mother church is Welsh Neck Church. The Welsh Baptist in Pennsylvania sent colonist to the upper Pee Pee River, which was just being colonized in the 1730's, from the Welsh Church in what is now Pencader, Maryland. The initial granted site for them to colonize was near the present community of Pee Dee in present Dillon County (Formerly Marion county, Liberty County, Prince Frederick Parish, Craven County in past years). Hi Janet, The original minutes back to 1756 are in archives at Furman (Baptist) University. They have archived records for many very old baptist churches in the southeast. I have not visited there personally yet, but have heard from others who have. I have a photo of the minute book(book is in poor condition) somewhere on my old computer. Beatrice H. Barber LAURINBURG - Mrs. Beatrice H. Barber, 81, of 808 Cypress Drive, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, in Scotland Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Barber worked for J.P.
