I know a few of our REIDFORDs did come to Canada, to Alberta and Toronto, in 1906 & 1912 respectively. Then my Mum in 1953, due to my Dad's Army posting, several years after arriving in Nova Scotia as a WWll Bride. I've no knowledge of any other family from the NE coming over here.

I've found the full name of the second wife of John REID who died 17 Oct 1893 was Mary Elizabeth Gordon KEITH.
A Margaret KEITH who married John GEDDES ( born 6 Nov 1808 Carrothead Deskford, son of Alexander GEDDES and Margaret GRANT), and I'm told they were sisters.

You might be related to my line. Do you know the dates on which Alexander and Margaret die? If so you can find out their parents names from their death certificates. You need to look on the Scotlandspeople website for copies of the birth certificates www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
