2. Re: SANDERS & ROBERTSON [1]
Ann Further to Andrew's Cornish SANDERS mail, having read that, I just have to send you this! Below is from 1841 Census @ FreeCen online - the father's occupation, and the ages of sons William & George - all fit with your SANDERS. Probably just coincidence, and you may have already seen & disregarded it, but who knows! The fact all say born cornwall may be red herring, if the family just said they were in order to speed up dealing with the Census man? A child christened in a particular place, does not mea

9. Re: [FIF] Old Parish Records for Fife-Mortcloths [1]
Thanks, Laura. I have a copy of the Fife death index you spoke of, and I have looked through the FFHS publications a number of times and saw nothing about mortcloths. Did I miss something or is there no other way to see mortcloth records except to order the appropriate film from the LDS and view it at my local FHC? -- Alice In a message dated 5/23/2005 10:50:04 AM Eastern Daylight Time, lmnapl@telus.net writes: Hi Alice, If you go to the Fife Family History Society then click on "Dates of Old

12. RE: [FIF] HUNTER's from BEATH [1]
Hi Lorraine, The HUNTER's that I have are SAMUEL aged 25 in May 1874. His parents are as listed in my first mail and as such I do not have their ages. I checked Scotlandspeople and he is not to be found on the 1871 census. In 1881 it states birth place as Oakly, Fife. I hope we connect. 14. Re: [FIF] To all 1841 Census Lookups [1]
Hi Norrie, You are a great guy to do all that work with the 1`841 census. I had one too but hesitated asking because you seemed overloaded. Actually, not even sure what is involved but?? you seem to be getting most finished OK so here goes. Archibald Cook m Elizabeth Strang Dunfermline June 1837 so they were probably there in 1841. Would appreciate anything you could find. Bob Parmerter ----- Original Message ----- From: NORVALNoreve@aol.com To: SCT-FIFE-L@rootsweb.com<

16. 1851 lookup - Forgan [1]
I'm looking for information on my gggGrandmother, Jessie MCINTOSH. She married in Forgan in 1863 giving her parents as George MCINTOSH & Ann MCKAY (both decd). On censuses ('71 onward) she gives her birthplace as Forgan and birth should be about 1845. Can't find her birth on IGI or OPR but some digging suggests family may have originated in Aberdeen - or not for the first time could be getting lead astray. Presume she would be in Forgan in '51 - if anyone is in a position to do a lookup for her it would

Their children were Mary Swan who married James Morrison, Helen Swan, Christian Swan who married David Geekie, and James Swan who married first, Jane Clark, and then, Susan Grieg. Would any of these names be of interest? Thanks, Marge

22. RE: [FIF] SWAN James [1]
Hello Colleen R, I have checked my files and could not find a Agnes Jane SWAN in there, nor a Robert STEWART. Wish I could help...such a sad story - losing two sons so close together. One of my Swan families also lost two sons in the Great War...they are both commemorated on the Cowdenbeath War Memorial... Take care, Dave

24. Janet BURNS [1]
Hello listers, It's been quite some time since I posted any queries to the list, and certainly about time I tried to find more information on the above mentioned lady. Janet BURNS married John DINGWALL in 1833, banns being posted in both Cupar and Collessie. Janet is noted as being of the Parish of Collessie. I've had no luck in finding a birth for Janet, and her Australian death certificate is somewhat lacking in information. Her father is given as John BURNS, Contractor, and her birthplace as Spr
