Amelia,
The York County Historical Center has family group sheets for Alexander
Love. When I was there in 1994, the staff and volunteers were entering the
information from Joseph Hart's research into a database. You can call and
ask if Wade Love is in the database and then purchase the Love family group
sheets for a nominal sum.

Edgefield and York have no connection. Edgefield was fromed in 1785 from
the 96th District and is on the Georgia border about half way down the
SC line. York was formed in 1789 from the Pinckney District and is on the
NC line just below Charlotte.

Does anyone have any information, especially military
information, relating to one Colonel Robert Patton, who lived
with his family in the York District of South Carolina in the late
1700s? He was recorded in the York District US Census for
1790, but surprisingly, because he had a large family group, he
was missed in the census of 1800. His Will was probated in
York District. However, there is no marriage record for him
there, so he must have been married before he arrived. Both

Is there any way that I could get a copy of that listing? There may be others on the list that are

My face is a bit red but, still, am glad to correct my errors. There are
Carriker for real. A good friend gently corrected my error which I share
with
apologies to the Carriker researchers who earlier contacted me:
There are several books on the Karriker/Carriker/Karraker/Carraker family in
the Rowan County Library. As you noted in your message, the spelling
variations are similar to those of Kerr and Carr. The link below is for the
History Room of the library, and the catalogue is on-line.

Thanks for the clue on my LOVE family line. I knew my ggg grandmother
Nancy Lee Love was born in Pennsylvania in 1834. Her father John Love died
about 1849 and her mother Mary Love (no other information). She had a
brother named James.
This could possibly be the same family.
I will check into the Philadelphia records tomorrow.
