It is perhaps not surprising that the battle between George Bush and John

descendants of the same Essex man. Their common ancestor was a member of the minor
Essex gentry called Edmund Reade who was born and died in Wickford without
ever seeing the New World his offspring would fight over 400 years later.
However, Reade's daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret, bo

I have updated the Irish books section of my website with new books and
lookup volunteers. Many on the list visited Ireland over the Summer and
probably brought home a new book or two. If you are like me, you needed
to buy a new bag to carry them all home :-)
Maybe some new parish history books have been published that is not
included in the Parish History books section.
So, check out the books listed and if you find you have books that are
not listed, you can use the convenient form on the bottom

I have transcribed the 1829 Tithe Applotments for Corcomohide Civil
Parish of Counties Limerick and Cork. There are over 500 names in this
civil parish and it includes townlands of Ballyagran, Drewscourt and
Castletown plus others. By the way, in 1829 this civil parish was
called Castletown in the tithes.
You can access the database by going to my homepage (URL below my name)
and at the top of the page, under Ireland, click on County Limerick.

My g,g,g grandfather JOHN L WILSON came to America "a very young man" :).
He was born
13 June 1805. My thoughts are that he came here 1820 or after. One census
states he was born at Cork (it didnt state City or County).
Does anyone have any suggestions of where to look for any information?

Several months ago, someone posted information on how President Bush &
Senator Kerry are distantly related... 10th cousins twice-removed if I
remember correctly.
What I can't remember correctly is which list I saw it on. I want to
search the archives to pull up the list of ancestors, but can't since I
don't know where to start.
If anyone remembers or still has the posting, please contact me off-list.
Thanks,

I've hit a brick wall in my family research.
I'm hoping other researchers on the list searching for the above surnames may

married Kate Kelley daughter of Michael Kelley and Mary O'Donahue ca 1885. Most
of family in early years were in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.
