I don't know. That is part of my problem. My great grandmother, Harriet (Shearer) Crooks Mason was living near Leechburg during the 1870 census. She was age 17 and married to Winfield Scott Crooks, my great grandfather. He died in 1889 and is buried in a cemetary in Pittsburgh. She remarried John William Mason and they both lived and died in Pittsburgh.
I have been unable to locate Harriet in the 1860 census, either with Shearer's or Rosses, although there are a few Jackson's out there. Her parents names

No, I'm sorry, but my book starts and ends in the United States. There are a few references of the Shearers' emigrating from Ireland before they came from England.
There were four brothers that came here to the U.S.around 1740. George, William I, John and James. Other than that, I cannot trace my ancestors back before 1851.
Good Luck,

His parents were James McCarlie Shearer and Mary Ann Shearer nee McCoskrie (they married in 1894) and had 3 other children, Margaret Wallace Shearer, Agnes Agnew Campbell Shearer and Ann Law McCoskrie Shearer.

My branch has a family cemetary in Dade City Florida, that is taken care of by the United Methodist Church. They have the records of the Enterprise Methodist church that used to sit on the grounds. it has been moved to the Pioneer Museum down the road. The cemetary is outside of town - church will give you directions.
I will be glad to share information on who's buried there.
I have copies of pages from a family Bible that records births, deaths and marriages from the LANE family in Noble county, Indiana. I do not have the original. I would be very interested in contacting someone who has the original Bible.
