Hi all: I know that there are new members on the list and thought I'd post my old query. My 3rd great grandfather was Calvin McLain Shoemaker, born 15 Oct 1818 in North Carolina. He migrated with his family to Tennessee, and then to Texas where he eventually settled in Cherokee County, about 1845. Served in the Civil War.
