Hi all cousins. I just found what I thin is my Great grandfather and
morther in the 1880 census in Lauderdale Co., MS. listed as
John SINGLETON 29 RR Engineer, b. SC SC SC
Ellen 22 Housewife b. Pickens Co, SC(?)
Mack 6 Son.
That's all I have right now. Jon Singleton
Tom asked somebody to post something, 'cause he wasn't sure he heard us
breathing, so...
Anybody have anything on Silas Green Singleton, b. 1853, Pulaski Co. KY?
I've got his ancestors as:
1 SINGLETON, Silas Greene (#12) born 17 Jul 1858, Pulaski Co KY; Married (8
Oct 1885 Grayson, Carter Co KY) MCALLISTER, Nancy Amanda (#13); died 1907;
buried Ashland Cemetery.
2 SINGLETON, Granville (#141) born 31 Jul 1834, Pulaski Co KY; Married (8
Oct 1857 Pulaski Co KY) HENDRICKS, Sarah Jane (#130); died 20 Jan 1875
I have seen little or no activity on the Singleton list since the server
work was done at Maiser. (Other than what I have posted and the error
messages that were generated!) Someone post your missing link just to
let me know all of you are alive!
If anyone has recently tried to access the archives for the list please
e-mail me and let me know how it went.
Thanks, Tom Land, listowner

Hello, Singleton Researchers
I'm Lin, a new subscriber to the Singleton List. If Tom Land hasn't already
forwarded my recent NC/SC-ROOTS posting to you, I'd like to tell you about

Many Thanks to John for sending this to me. I know several in the group
are descendents of this line. This is also the Matthew that Christopher
Singleton chose as guardian in Caroline Co., VA before Matthew went on to
SC and Christopher went on to Kentucky. Sure would like to know the
connection between the two! Enjoy, Tom

I would like to make a suggestion. Could we please put {Singleton} in
the subject line?? Or at the very least [Sing.]? I am on a couple of
surname lists. And I have to read each post to figure out where I should
file it. Sometimes I would like to just file it and review it later when
I have more time. Are subject lines a problem for anyone else? Most
posts say Singleton somewhere and it doesn't take long to find. However
every couple of posts we get one that doesn't say anything for a while.

I believe we've talked about Christopher Columbis Singleton before, but I
don't have a record of the answer.
I've got him b. 1735 on Isle of Wight, England, the son of Christopher
Singleton, b. 1699, Glouster VA. This is not very likely. Either Junior was
born in Isle of Wight VA or Senior was born Glouster England, I'd think.
Anybody have anything either way on this?

The following addresses have been removed from the list due to bounced

So many folks have left them lately & all the bounces are what is
slowing down the list mail. Other addresses I will continue to give 3
