Smith list I have been on, the only time I have seen the name Stephen was when
I asked for information. I guess Stephen wasn't a popular name back then.
The Stephen I am looking for was born about 1856 and married Liza/Lizyana
Lewis. I have found information that he may be the son of Abner Smith who was born
about 1814. Abner was the son of Jabel and grandson of Thomas Smith.
I would be interested to know if anyone has

I am searching for information on Frank Smith who was born in Mississippi. He married JOSEPHINE TURNER in Texas. A daughter, Missouri Ann Smith, married M.F. Rogers. On her death certificate was listed her father, Frank, as being born in Mississippi and her mother, Josephine, as being born in Polk County, Texas.
The informant's name was listed as Mrs. Harold Rogers.
If anyone has information or is related to these people I woudl appreciate hearing from you.

Dear List Members,
I just ran across an interesting Website, "Courthouse Experiences"
http://www.bcpl.net/~dmg/courthouse.htm Not every county is listed, but
the ones listed gave helpful information regarding the attitudes of
those working in the courthouses.
I might suggest that if you have had a positive or negative courthouse
experience you add them to this site.
I now know how to prepare myself for several courthouses I want to visit
later this year.

Daniel Smith was my ancestor's brother. He was the son of Sarah Crosby and
Henry Smith of Stafford county Virginia. There is a web site devoted to his
home which is now a museum and which contains quite a lot of information about
the General and the Smith family. I also have a good deal of information on
the family if you are interested. Are you a descendent? I have included the
web site below.
Best regards

Originally we had begun as Smiths of VA DNA Project but there were so many
related southern Smiths who had possible related origins that we have
expanded it.
You will note that, first, the results are broken into major groups that
(probably) the member came from, then within that group into either 12
