I just finished transcribing the Mortgage Record when John M. McKenzie's land was sold from his estate to Paul Hoffman in 1864. It states that his tract of land was adjoining lands of Soloman Engle, Frank Bittner and Jesse W. Beal. On John Mckenzie's Deeds it gave Flaugherty Creek as a boundary also. I am not familiar with the area and need to do more research but I think the cemetery was probably on the Beal property. Is there anyone out there who is familiar with this area who might know.

I am trying to find any information on Johan Jacob Keffer whom was married to Anna Maria Nass. They immigrated from Germany with their two oldest sons Johan Jacob and Michael, I think around 1770 +/- . When in PA they went on to have Valentine born Oct 6, 1777 and Anna Elizabeth born 1780. They may have changed their name to Keffer from Kief(f)er when coming to the states. The two older boys moved up to Canada around 1806 with their families and Valentine married Catherine Zeig(l)er and moved to Pickaway co

if this is a John David name that got separated into two identities, or if
she married brothers, or if it is even correct. I have no dates, except that

wife Mary M. "Polly" BEIGHLEY (my ancestoral surname) 1777 - 1844. Sylvia

I am interested in finding information on a Jonathan LAUB born in Somerset Co. about 1818. He was married to a Elizabeth HAINES born 1819. He died in a Civil War prison in 1864 in Maryland. His son George LAUB, supposedly born in Somerset Co. in 1846, was also a Civil War prisoner. George married Elizabeth Deets, daughter of David and Rachel (BISHOFF) DEETS.
I have just begun posting known birth records to a new page at the address
highlighted below (click on Somerset Births). It has the feature of discrete
records, a search feature and the ability to set your preferences in terms
of "list sort" on the page. I recommend you set the preference at
alphabetical listing (top of page) and it will make for easier scanning.
Don't forget to click on the name, itself, to read a brief sentence or
paragraph about the individual.

I just found out that the mother of my Susannah BAIR m. to Phillip CRIPLIVER,
Eva WHITMORE was really born in Somerset County Pa in 1760 instead of
Maryland where IGI microfiche has her from. Can anyone find this out for me
for sure. Most likely in Brothers Valley Twp where her husband Daniel BAIR

Hi Sharon,
Yes, I have them in my database too -- almost all my Ringler data came from
the LM article. My guess is that it was common knowledge that these two
were the children of Joshua and Sarah when the tree info was put together
and submitted to the Gen Soc.
