The spring 2000 issue of Berlin Historical Society's MEMOS includes some
recipes taken "from a book which had been compiled by the Sisterhood of Mary

recipes included came from ladies named Emma Cober, Mrs. Henry Menges, Mrs.
Wilson Boyer, Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mrs. Belle Hoffmaster, Mildred Deitz, and
(my interest) Mrs. John J. Kimmel. Since I follow the Kimmels, I'd like a

Hi,
I wondered if someone could look up the name Glesky in and around the
Somerset County area. The family lived in the Shaw Mine area and work there
in the early 1900's I believe. This may not be the original spelling of the
surname. I have been told that is was original something like Kalminski. I
don't know the spelling for sure. I would appreciate any help that anyone
could give.
Thank you ahead of time.

How do you account for the one month difference in the birthdate of John and

You should contact the libraries in question and ask the reference librarian if
they will do lookups. At one time, the reference section was referring folks to
a volunteer who would do lookups and make copies (for a small fee). I do not
know if this is the case anymore and I cannot remember which library did that.
My guess is that the librarians do not do lookups.
