G'day Becky, A far distant cousin of mine Donna Maria Kirkpatrick (n times removed) was married to a Spanish Count de Monttijo and had a daughter Eugenie Marie de Guzman. Eugenie married Napolean III and became Empress Eugenie. It was their only child, Napolean IV, who was killed by the Zulus. The following is a short bio on Napolean III and Empress Eugenie's son. "Napoleon Eugene Louis Jean Joseph, the Prince Imperial of France, was born at the Tuileries, Paris, on 16th March, 1856, in what was the most

Hi Shane As others have already told you, this reference relates to a divorce. Usually included in the file are dates of birth of the respondents, date of marriage, and names and ages of any minor children of the marriage. If this info is of interest to you, I would suggest that you request someone to draw the file for you in Pretoria, and extract the relevant info. The Prince Imperial was Napolion Eugene Louis Bonaparte, only son of Napolion III, Emperor of the French, 1952-1870. The Prince Imperial was a member of the British Army in the Zulu War. Napolion III lived in England after the Franco-Prussian War and died in Chislehurst, Kent after two years; he was subsequently re-interred at Farnborough in 1888. The way I read this string, Jan's initial attempt was a direct approach to the BMD Registry in Harare, resulting in the disappearance of her money without anything in return. Bad move. Zimbabwe is, and has been for some time, a kleptocracy, that is, a state governed by thieves. Unless the applicant is standing at the counter and doesn't hand over the money until the quid pro quo is received, th money will be stolen. (Even then, whether it finds its way into the coffers is doubtful). Mind you, tha

19. Re: [ZA] I need to find a researcher in S. Africa [1]
De Beer hunters, keep trying. I just looked them up in the Pretoria telephone directory thinking I would count them, but I was astounded to find they took up nearly 7 columns of names so I gave up. Surely someone, somewhere and at sometime has researched that great family, beginning possibly with the famous mining magnates of that name. Where is our South African History on this?
