through.
Here it is
Yes, I know this Emanuel is not the son of Samuel d 1804, I believe he is the son
of Henry and Kesiah Ferrell,
they were in Brothers Valley Twp. Somerset County in the 1850 and there was a child
Emanuel age 2 in the household.
As for Jacob there is a Jacob Statler 79 born PA in the 1880 census in Berrien

Hi, Nena,
I tried to figure out Vierwald-Statter See.
Vier means four in Germany and wald means forest, but I do not have
any idea what Statter is.
See means lake, not sea. Maybe this helps You a little bit.
I will also write to Kiti, one of my friends have studied in Switzerland,
she might know, as she is familiar with that
type of German language they speak in Switzerland, besides Italian
and French.
Great weekend,Pia and Evi

Sandra.....all I can say, and I am just jumping right in here, is GO GIRL
GO!!....as far as 'non paternal' events [a DNA description]....yes, this
ocurrs BUT....my own opinion FROM experience, if a child is adopted, he
should have been told as a child, if an ancestor was raped and another
spouse raised the child, usually, sometimes not....the child knows of this,
esp if the spouse did NOT adopt the child [happened to my 3x grandmother,
she was raped, had a 3yr old son when she md the lst time, he neve
What you say is relevant though....I do know some names that happened with
and probably why some of us cant find our folks..like Kelly was O'Kelly, as
were many names with 'O'....dropped it...or Fitz.....became Hugh or Patrick
or Gerrell or Gerald....anyone know where there might be a list of names
changes?? Like how did they get Sheppard fr that Latin name....all I can
think of is Pastor might be related to being a Shepherd.....shepherd of the
flock....pastor of the flock.....

I know some things about the T. K Stateler is in Saint Paul.
He is still there in 1880 and in 1900 and 1910 he is in Alameda CA, where my
Statlers moved about 1911.
His first name is Thomas
wife Emma Jane
children Melville b1874
Winnie b 1879
Ruth b 1883
Thomas died age 82 May 20, 1928 and his wife Nov. 30,1922 both in Alameda County
I would think he was a grandson of Michael and Mary Bold, the only candidate is
Thomas the son of Stephen who was listed as age 8 in 1850, perh

Sharon,
Try this:
use google advanced search
using the quotes and all the words type:
"frances statler" "ohio"
Likely, this won't give the info you seek, BUT in the third
of the three results, in the title/summary it
shows......Mary L. Jobe Akeley, could the AKELEY
be an earlier version of AKE?
Just a thought.....
John Statler
Could someone please post Casper Statler's line....would appreciate it,
thanks, Nena

I don't understand why everyone is so upset with this. Just because you
recieved the note from Sandy doesn't mean you 'have' to read and reply.
I'm not interested in what she is doing but I am a little disturbed to
see the 'bitching' back and forth.

I have just started to work on my Statler family connections and am new
to this mailing list' so bare with me, please. My great grandfather was
Andrew Statler. His second wife was Eleanora Ling ( aka Ellen, or
Elinora--- note: Eleanora is the spelling on her tombstone ). They had
one child, my grandmother Lola (Statler) Chapman. Lola and her mother
Eleanora were survivors of the 1889 Johnstown, Pa flood. My mother took
me to the Statler cemetery in Shade Twp. Somerset Co.Pa.about 1946. I am

It's been a couple years since I last asked, so I thought I'd ask this
question again of you Stradler/Statler researchers. I am searching for
info on my gggg-grandmother Catherine "Straddler" who married George Tope
(1761-1845) in PA about 1780. The only other information we have is that
she had twelve children by George Tope, from 1782 to 1801. George
remarried in 1804 (and had an additional twelve children!). Any
information or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
