I,m not sure if there is a connection, but I saw your posting and looking through some work I have done, I found a Rose Grinnell, wife of Matthew. It comes from an item in Grinnell Family Book Pg 225 #5556 - edited by Lawrence Grinnell forwarded by Edsel W. Grinnell.

Welcome to the Steadman list!
I would be interested in seeing what you have for the descendants of these
couples as I am tracking all Stedman descendants. You can review some data

Long time readers of this list will recall that one of the problems that we
have been trying to solve over the past several years is to identify the
children of Job Stedman of South Kingstown, RI, who moved to Addison
County, Vermont in the 1790s. he was a son of James Stedman.
One of the challenges with finding data on Job and his family is that they
were Quakers and as Quakers tried to avoid civil registration whenever
possible.
