Looks like we are back to our genealogy! I was recently at the National Archives and very disappointed. I found Jonathan Stearns on a slip with a number, but no one knew what the number meant. Then I found him in and out of Fellows Regiment (with two other family names, Root and Noble) but that was also a dead end. There were letters to the government from the 1930s looking for verification for SAR but no results. He is my direct ancestor according to the "Descendants of Charles Stearns". Does anyone
