Hello,
My name is Doug Johnson from Cincinnati, Ohio. My GGGGrandfather was

I am trying to find out what happened to my ggrandparents, Alexander
Campbell Stewart and Annie Inglis Stewart. They put my grandmother,
Margaret Cecelia in a boarding school for the blind in Antigonish NS and
apparently had a son that either was put up for adoption or something.
Both ggrandparents were born in Antigonish, NS with Alexander's parents
coming from Scotland.
My grandmother died in 1941, she was born about 1887. Alexander was born
in 1839 but I have no date of death on him. He was married to An

Jacob (b. 1794) & Silas (b. 1796) were brothers; the 8th & 9th children
of Jacob Stewart & his wife Eunice Edith Dunn. They were probably born
in Westmoreland Co, PA, as that was where Jacob & Eunice were living at
the time (enumerated in 1790 in Wheatfield Twp, and later moved to
Fairfield Twp). Jacob & Eunice moved to Westmoreland Co sometime in the
latter part of the 1780s, because the first couple of their children
were born in Middlesex Co, NJ.
Ann (b. 1801) & Mary (b. 1803) Hendricks were also sist

Would like to find out more on F. Jane Steward, possibly born in Lawrence,
Marion Co., IL. She married David J. Brumbaugh in 1854. David died in 1865
in Goshen, Elkhart Co. Indiana. They had five children at the time of his
death. I don't know what happened to Jane and children in 1860s and 1870s.
Any help with F. Jane Steward would be appreciated!

One of my few unturned stones -- there is a George Stewart household listed
in the 1820 census for Vigo county, Indiana. He must have been quite the
pioneer, since some of the Stewarts (and others) who arrived several years
later described themselves as "taming the wilderness" and such. In any case,
George apparently had a son about the right age to be my gg-grandfather
William Stewart.
Any data or clues on George Stewart , or other Vigo county Stewarts prior to
1835, would be greatly appreciated
I can't say anything for SHARP, Mike, but STEWART, HUSTON and WILSON are
all County Tyrone names, the area around Strabane. Just something to
store away for future use.

Gary,

I did and I saw no references to Logansport, DeSoto Co., LA. I didn't look
for your STEWART. I believe the editor established a NLT cutoff of 1850 for
his efforts (although I couldn't find that statement in a quick glance at
the site) so he wouldn't be there.

A branch of our family lost our Family Bible with all of the valuable
information that we have to search so hard for now. Since then I have
made it a point to check Bibles in yard sales, auctions and used book
stores for information about a family. I found two and I needed a place
to put the information out so it wouldn't be lost. (I'm not selling or
pushing the Bibles, I have given them to the church to use, only the
information in the Bibles that is so important to genealogists.) I knew

Hi Anne,
Have a look at my website http://users.hol.gr/~mkyritsi/ where you will
find indexes to the Stewart Clan Magazine, if you haven't already. There
is a little bit of information about this family on D146 and D147 (tome
D, pages 146 & 147), though you know more about the three children of
John and Frances. It says that John's parents were John Stewart and
Mary--, but it doesn't go back further than that. The article begins on
D145.
The website will give you the places around the country where you
Looking for data on Jacob and Silas Stewart, apparently brothers who were in
Decatur county, IN for the 1820 census. In 1822 in Decatur county, Jacob
married Ann HENDRICKS ; in 1823 Silas m. Mary HENDRICKS. I'm guessing Mary
and Ann were sisters, and the SCM index suggests they were from PA, probably
Fayette county, PA. Anyone have more information on Jacob and Silas? Please
e-mail. Thanks.

Subject: Toronto Tall Ship Sail
If anyone would like to experience how some of their ancestors came to
Canada sailing on Canada's largest sailing ship, the "Empire Sandy", then
that opportunity is available on Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999 for $15 adults, $8
children. It leaves from Toronto for a 2.5 hour cruise on Lake Ontario at
11 am and 2 pm. That is the day of the Toronto Air Show so combined with
beautiful scenery it is a day to take along a camera. Folk singers,

I believe the copyright can extend for two consecutive 23 yr periods after
that 1970 publishing date. I understand the family doesn't want to publish
it. But in 2016 it becomes public domain (maybe) - that's probably what was
happening with you helping to republish a book older than copyrights were
extended.
I'm not absolutely sure of that 23yr. thing being accurate either - maybe 26
yrs - I would certainly buy a CD too - but
anyway

Mike Stewart ,Mstew99@aol.com> commented that one can easily imagine
groups of neighbors migrating together. My experience with two groups of
ancestors, one basically one family farmers - my paternal Stewart line,
etc.; the other pre Civil War slaveholders and plantation owners - my
maternal line; says that it is not only imaginable, but almost axiomatic
that that was the case and should be exploited in research.
There was no regular government handout in those days; only the awarding

I noticed that in the 1800 census for Fayette county, PA that some STEWARTs
and SHARPs were close neighbors, and in the 1830 census for Monroe county, IN
that again there were STEWARTs and SHARPs as very close neighbors. There
were also HUSTONs and WILSONs in the general vicinity in both counties.
Perhaps this is just a coincidence, but it's not hard to imagine clusters of
families migrating together, especially since my 1830's STEWARTs supposedly
had PA roots. Anyone else have STEWARTs and SHARPs
