but if you're like me, there might be a morsel or two that you might not
have seen the first time. Some of it are my own posts. I've tried to keep

Much has been written about Col. William Crawford and his being burned
at the stake by the Indians in 1782. Also quite a bit about wife Hannah

George Washington when in their youth and Col William and his bro
Valentine did much work and surveying for Washington in Pennsylvania and
along the Ohio river in Kentucky and Ohio. Not much on Ann Stewart tho.

I need proof of birth (records) for William Fayette STEWART, born on 06
January 1855 in Jefferson County, Ohio. His father and mother, Mahlon
STEWART and Ruth CLARK, moved to Black River Falls, Wisconsin the following
year, where William's sister Mary Ellen STEWART was born on 11 September
1856.
Do birth records for Jefferson County, Ohio exist back that far? Does anyone
have this Stewart as a common relative?

My Stuarts were Scots, and emigrated to Otago in the south of New
Zealand in the 1860s, so I find all the 1700s Stewarts in US a little
confusing. But there are family stories of older/younger brothers who
went to the US, so I've kept on reading the mailing list since I joined
a couple of months ago. I would be very interested to receive your
occasional, irregular and whatever newsletters, as well as the back
issues file. Good on you (southern [hemisphere] colonial expression of

Sorry for the garbage posts.
I use Juno e-mail. I created a .txt file and when I inserted it there
was all these little squares at each hard return. I removed them -
result garbage and the next letter after the square was removed.
So I tried again and did not remove the little squares - exactly same
garbage!!
Other people are able to post nice, neat lists. What am I doing wrong?
I would appreciate your suggestions. Thank you. Betty
