Sorry people - this has nothing to do with genealogy - but something you might
think about - I just ran off some that said he was from my insurance Co. and
wanted to take a picture of my roof -
I know this is the way it is done - but why, with as much we pay the insurance
co.'s - can't they make a call and let you/me know they are coming? Most of us
live on what we believe to be our own homes - and I never found in the fine
print that they could come onto private proberty without the owner's
permission -
Hi Christine,
The Redstone area of PA was mentioned in passing seveal times in the Stewart
Clan Magazine. Please see my website http://users.hol.gr/~mkyritsi/ and
check out the Index of Places. There are also a lot of wives with the last
name Norris in the Index of Spouses which might give you a lead.

Hello,
Terry NY 177- s.Phin/MaryE.-- A23(not s.Sam),198
The first page reference on A23 (Dec 1922) gives erroneous information that
Terry's father "probably" was Samuel Stewart, and it was taken from the
Elliott Stewart manuscript of the Stewarts of East Haddam CT.
The reference on A198 is one of June 1926, Vol IV No. 12, and is part of the
work of Horace W. Dickerman of New Haven, CT, on the descendants of
Lt.William Stewart of Stonington, CT. The paragraph on Phineas reads:
Three Stewart marriage bonds/certificates are on my site until next
weekend. If you know anything about any of these three please email me.

Hello elizabeth,
Welcome to the List. Check out my website at http://users.hol.gr/~mkyritsi/
to see if there's anything on the areas you are studying, which might give
you a clue where to go next. There is also a page there with the libraries
that have the full run, plus the call numbers for LDS microfilm if you are
near a Family History Centre.
Good luck,
Mary

Hi Sue,
The Stewarts of Ballintoy do have some lines that ended up in New Jersey.
They are a relatively well documented line that originated on the Isle of
Bute, Scotland, and went to Ireland long before the Plantation of 1610.
The references you have:
A188: Refers to a query for information on William Stewart of Hackettstown
NJ, b. about 1739, who came with his brothers Archibald and James from
Ballintoy, Co. Antrim and d. 17 Feb 1810 in Hackettstown. His first wife
was Frances SHERROD, by whom he had
I am also looking for information on the Stuart family decending from Mary,
Queen of Scots. One thing that my Grandmother told me was that these
particular Stuarts were Catholic whereas the other Stuarts and Stewarts were
Protestant. She said that many of them migrated to Nova Scotia to avoid
religios persecution in Scotland. My Great-Great-grandmother's name was
Christianne Stuart from Nova Scotia, probably from around Sydney Mines. She
was married to Charles Edward Bown. They had nine children and my
Mary, I did get your post - I thank you! This information is thrilling, as it
now appears I may also find the source for the name "Walker," given so many
TRIMBLE men in subsequent generations. I so appreciate your generosity as you
share your knowledge and precious time. Very truly yours, Julie Kosmata

Hello all - an update on my miss placed fingers - the web page address for the
surnames Love, Barnes and Stewarts will work on:
http://members.aol.com/thsone/surname/
I would suggest finding a surname with an extension .html and read what it
says there - all are in text format but she may also have pictures to share on
that surname, and warnings as to slow to load - etc. Let us know what you

I am surprised by reactions to a fun page.
The world is serious enough as it is.
In other groups people would shrug their
shoulders, delete the message, BUT these
holier than thou reactions?! Has the Stewart
Clan lost their sense of humour and tolerance?
Best wishes
