HI Marty,
My name is Joyce Stewart, I have been doing the STEWART research for
at least 25 yrs, have lived in North Carolina close to where CHARLES and
JOANNA or as she was also named HANNAH lived and in that time there has been
no definite proof found, that named the REV JAMES STEWART, of WESTER CLUNIE

parentage of CHARLES, "In all probability

Hi,
I am researching my husbands' family. His GGgrandmother was Julia A Stewart
daughter of Stephen Stewart and Hannah (Sargent) Stewart. Julia was born
Nov. 30, 1835 possibly in Vermont or NY. Her family went to Mahoning Co., OH
as she married one William Thomas there, Nov 30, 1858. They lived in
Youngstown or near by. Here husband William came from Wales in 1857 and had
a boot and shoe business for several years then a produce business. They
moved to Bushnell, Montcalm Co., MI in 1867. They both die
Does anyone have a Nancy Stewart b:1839 in AL or TN? Nancy is on Jackson
County AL census records. Nancy married to my GG Grandfather Chapley
Hampton. Mother or grandmother of Nancy was Lydia Stewart listed in household
with Nancy & Chapley on census records I have. I can not find Lydia's
husband name anywhere. He may have been from TN according to census records
stating birthplace of father by Nancy name.
Thanks, Judy

Hello Again-My thanks to those of you who wrote me after my last posting. I am convinced that most of my family lines are of Melungeon and/or Native American descent although we've always been "white". The Stewart family is associated with the Pamunkey and Chickahominy tribes back in the early 1700s. In addition, there were a large number of Mulatto Stewarts in central and eastern Va. who gradually "went white". If any of you are pursuing these areas, please let me know.

Yes its me again, LOL
Is anyone working on the STEWART's of Newton County, IN? Please email me.

Hello - Is anyone on this list researching Melungeon, Native American, and/or African American Stewarts. Although my Stewarts have been listed as white everywhere I go, I suspect my mysterious ggg grandfather Robert was Melungeon. Information on the web is scant in Mercer and Giles Cos., Va/WVa. However, he lived there for probably 40 or more years on the same land and left nothing but census records. Thanks.

Does anyone have the data for the Henry County, KY STEWART's from the Stewart
Clan Magazine written down somewhere? I know I can access it through the LDS
library but IM hoping someone has already done this research and has it in
their notes somewhere.
It is really confusing as to who Hiram STEWART's (born abt 1802 in Henry
County, KY) parents were. Different websites and researchers say different
mothers. The father is always John STEWART/STUART but the mother changes
depending on who you talk too.
To all my Stewart family,
My father, James Alvin Stewart at the age of 85, passed away at my home on
Sat. Sept. 29, in Thornville, Ohio.
He was the son of Alvin and Lillian (Ford) Stewart.
I have been researching my Stewart tree with little success for years.
My grandmother, Lillian was born in Coatesville, of Chester Co. Pa. and I
was told at the funeral that Alvin (b. 1883) and his parents, John and
Isabella (Green) Stewart where from around Chester county also at some
point. I do know that Alvin and Lil

(Butler Co.). Have been unable to locate any records (Butler Co.courthouse
burned) pertaining to estates for Thomas or Jane Lee Stewart.
Elizabeth married Almon Sanderson in Montgomery Co. AL on 28 Septe

Hello Stewart Cousins-
While researching for other Stewart cousins I came across some info on William Stewart
(m. Mary Ann Penn and Martha Wilson).
Does anyone have a copy of Williams War Pension file? I found an abstract of it
in the Rev. War Pension Files. I would really like to see an original copy without
having to wait on it from the State of Ga.
Also I have info on William from the book "Georgia Pioneers" by

I am interested in locating other family members that are descended from Alvin Franklin Stewart. He was born 18 Apr 1819 in Georgetown, Madison, N.Y. His first wife was Camera O. Owens. They were Mormon Pioneers who came to Utah in the 1850's. He later settled in Mesa, AZ. If you are related to him, I would love to hear from you.

I've been able to make some breakthroughs, thanks to Mary Kyritsis of
Greece (anyone have her address? I seem to have a very old one, and didn't
save her last message), several wills, and the new 1880 Census CDs, as well
as earlier work I've done.
I'm pretty positive that my line comes from James and his wife Eleanor
Blakely. Most connections seem rather tenuous, but put them all together,
and they begin to weigh heavily.
James G. and Eleanor Blakely had a child George Hulse, b May 11 1797. This
