I need all the info I can gather as I JUST started on my Stokes lines past Edward Stokes in Missouri.

Mike, I don't doubt what you say. A lot of my "stuff' is emails, notes from
others, my own work, & my cousins. I have not worked on the Stokes in years.
But since I had them thought I would share and just maybe help someone.
I also have 3.5 DNA projects & 13 mailing lists so my own genealogy gets
pushed around and different lines worked on.

To these folks who are looking at Webster County, Missouri Stokes
families.... I believe some the family of Edward G. Stokes went from
Guilford Co NC to Meigs Co TN to Webster/Osage/Maries Co's Missouri.
Edward G. Stokes and Thomas Stokes are from the same area and from DNA tests
appear to be related. -- This is one of our Stokes DNA mini-success
stories...

Some Lunenburg County, Virginia Stokes names in Wills. It says you can't copy the information for publication elsewhere so I am just giving the link. These are brief statements... If someone has the entire transcription they have done on the Stokes items, they could post it.

There was an Agnes Stokes in mine. I would guess that Phaedra Freeman and
Phoebe Freeman were the same person, just a question of the transcriber's
opinion. I don't know where my originals are right now, so cannot look to see
if I want to change my opinion.

Oh wow! I was just Googling around tonight and found where S-25 (that's ME -- or actually my cousin) results were posted in the Stokes-L Archives (whatever that is). Actually I Googled Nancy E. Thank you so much, Mike!

Are you talking about the 1758/1760 Will? Was there a 1748 will?
If you are referring to the 1758 Will, your point is only stronger. I am just trying to figure out which will and which Silvanus you are referrring to.
I am drowning in a SWAMP!

Scott,
Good eye! I have been transcribing the SC Census Records for Stokes before 1850 and I think you are on to something here and are starting to connect some dots. I was not looking for the Overstreet family in Beaufort. Cluster searches for family related family groups really helps focus your Stokes research.
