STROUD born in Va abt 1827. He is found in the 1860 census of Norfolk Co, Va with his wife, Sarah Hardison. They were married in Norfolk on 1 Apr 1851. Their children are William Albert b.1857, John b.1852, Augustus Titus, Elkanah and Sadie. He served in the Confederate cavalry being in the 14th and 5th Cav. In 1850 the census has no Edward but has a James in Norfolk Co of the correct age. In 1840 when he would be 13 the only
