John was born no later than 1664, Westmoreland CO VA, married Elizabeth Sturman abt 1696-1697. John died in Westmoreland CO VA in 1702. He had: John JR, William, Ann and Elizabeth. The town of Butler, AL is in Choctaw County. It is SE of Meridian, MS just across the state line. Butler County, AL is SSW of Montgomery, AL. Greenville is the major sized town. I'm trying to find the parents of Charles Stuart. I believe he was born about 1793 in the vicinity of Charleston, South Carolina. He enlisted in the war of 1812 from there in November of 1813. He married Elizabeth Hess in Cincinnati, Ohio at an unknown date. But, in 1820 he received 160 acres of land in Arkansas for his military service. My Stuart/Stewart line left Jackson Co., AL around 1830 and moved to Polk Co., MO. After the Civil War, my gg grandfather came to Grapevine, Tarrant Co. TX, between Dallas and Ft. Worth. The family slowly migrated northward, finally moving into OK in Grady Co., which was actually Indian Territory at the time.
