Hello Swan Members.
I haven't seen much activity as of lately and thought I'd try to rekindle some
interest.
Looking for my maternal great grandmother Elizabeth Swan born in around 1860-1880.
She had two sister's Ann and Helen and one brother Clement so far as we know.
Elizabeth was last seen in the town of Gloucester in 1912, but could of been born
anywhere in the UK. One of the sister's married name became Hibberd.
She married Edgar George Smith and had two children Caroline and Frederick also as

Does anyone know of Native Americans with the surname Swan? Probably
occurred when someone who did not wish to be relocated hid in the mountains
of the WV/VA border. Possibly a family named Swan(n) just adopted someone
(a little girl). Any ideas? GBT

Hi Everyone on the SWAN Mail List!
Of all of the lists that I administer on rootsweb, this is truly an
international list with nearly 1/2 of the subscribers from Australia, Canada,
New Zealand, the UK, and many other countries. Thanks for your interest and
enthusiasm!
In the US, the SWAN's have been colonials, soldiers of the Revolution,
pioneers, volunteers, and interesting people all around for those of us on
the list that have followed the history of the surname. I would like to

Can anyone in NZ help with details of ROBERT SWAN who I believe died in Christchurch around 1888 ? I have details of the family he left behind in Lanarkshire 1n 1880 and I also believe he was paralysed in a riding accident after arriving in NZ. He may have gone there with a brother who may have started a branch of the family in NZ. The Swans were aristocratic landowners in Lanarkshire and it may be that a Baronetcy eventually passed to the NZ branch of the family. Does this look familiar to anyone ? Any
