Hello all:
I believe that it is about time to increase the mail flow through the list.
I am considering a Roll Call much like the one I conducted last year about
this time. Any comments or concerns, I'd like to hear them so I can come to
a decision concerning the proposal.
Sincerely,
Wayne Duncan

Hi Libby,
Can you tell me what branch of the OSBORNE family that you are researching? I
seem to have a great great grandmother that may be
an OSBORNE, but not from my usual branch. I descend from James OSBORNE thru
Soloman > William N. > William Alex > John Thomas. I would love to exchange
info.

Hello everyone! Well for everyone who has been waiting to see the
families and tidbits from the Brush Creek Primitive Baptist Church in
Brush Creek, Smith County, TN. It is now online. It is not completely
transcribed and the pages which are transcribed are not completely
proofed yet but what I have is available with a partial index. The
index and pages will be updated as more transcriptions come in and more
proofing is accomplished. As you will discover, the church was
established in 1802 and complet

Have you tried looking for rhyming sounds of TOBER KY. Back in that day
and time spelling was not an easy task. Like my grandmother wrote MARSH
for march which totally changes the word. She had her Birthdate as MARSH
16/1891.If this had been a person `s name I could have looked for years and
never found it. She spelled Hannah as Handa . Her sister in laws name
Hannah Hazzard,Brown . So this may be a spelling thing I live in

I'm looking for James HUFF, the father of (James) Elias Huff (1816-1873).
James Huff was said to be born in Virginia, the moved to Kentucky where
Elias was born. Elias moved to Jackson & Woodruff Counties in Arkansas,
and died there. James was possibly married to Annie Hughes. He was the
son of James Huff. I've been particularly interested in Lee County VA and
Harlan County KY. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I am a new member and would like a roll call. I am trying to track my
ancestor, William Carr, in North Carolina and Sullivan Co, Tn. I have the
1850 census for Sullivan Co, TN in case anyone needs a lookup. Trying to
find out more about Kirklands from NC to Monroe Co, TN. Also Parrotts from
Franklin Co, VA to Smith Co, TN.
I'm trying to locate the parents of my ggrandfather, William M. Miller
(b.1861 in Scott County, VA, d.1944 in Washington County, VA). William's
marriage to Flora Pippin is the only record found so far that lists his
parents' names -- Ruben & Kate Miller.
I found the following Scott County, VA Millers enlisted in the 124th & 185th
VA Militia. I understand that many of the men in these units enlisted in
the 21st Battalion VA Infantry, which later became part of the 64th VA
Infantry:

I'm looking for information on Mormon/Moorman Lawson and Elva/Elvira Collins who moved to Hancock Co ca 181? His Rev War BLW gives a dob of Jan 1751, however his death certificate lists 1745. They were married in Lee Co, Va ca 1803. She died >1857 in Hancock/Hawkins Co. Although they are listed as having several children, only Peter, Mormon and Phoebe are named. No other information is known about them. No wills have been located. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I recall seeing the name Pleasant Smith several times in Washington

In another book, "The Militia of Washington Co., VA" the name

I'm having trouble receiving my digest e-mail. The top portion showing
today's topics is fine, but the body of the message doesn't follow.
Any idea what is happening?

The 1621 petition is online at:

Since many people who came to TN came from North Carolina, I thought
Hello everyone,
I apologize to those still waiting for their CD of the scanned images of
4 Volumes of the Brush Creek Primitive Baptist Church Records
(1802-1971) of Brush Creek, Smith County, TN. When we first started to
transcribe these records for the Smith County Web Page it was discovered
that 9 pages had missed being scanned and many duplicates were found.
So instead of sending out the CDs like that, my husband chucked them and
went back to check each and every page and reburned the CDs. I am
