1792 in Wythe Co. Va. appeared Henry Clemens Sr., married to Catherine
Yanson (Janson or Johnson). The were married Sept. 26, 1787 in Montgomery
Co., Va. The purchased property from John Tuteswiler (59 acres), part of
Thomas Hutchenson's original survey.
Where did this family come from? Are they German, English, Irish or

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My gggg/father was Jonathan Erwin Prince, son of same, father is believed to
have come from Germany, possibly to the Shenandoah Valley area, family then
moved on to White Co., TN ...where he was born c. 1813, TN. Jonathan and his
brother Thomas PRINCE were listed as TN road builders in the 1830's, they
also had a sister Eleanor.
Thomas was married to Rebecca DAVIS, sister of Jonathan DAVIS, who was
married to Eleanor PRINCE. Thomas was killed in MO. in the 1840s, trying to
catch a wagon train.
