This note is as much a reply to the request as an outline of how my
brain works, when I do research on the net. There might be some hints
for newbies as to how to find info there. There rest of you can delete
this note if you are not interested. P.S., ignore spelling...no matter
how many times I check, I miss a couple.
I can't make any guarantees, but I shall give it a go today. I will give
you an couple hours of my time, on the net, and forward what is found,
if anything. As I am in Canada, it does us bot
I am researching the family of Electius/Electious Thompson and Mary Elizabeth
Alexander who lived in Montgomery County, NC from about 1790 to 1805. Their
son, Ephraim, was my gg grandfather, born in Montgomery County in 1792. Ephraim
spent his adult life in Jackson, Marshall, and Lawrence counties in Alabama.
Electius became a Baptist preacher while living in NC. He established and
preached in many Baptist churches in Western Virginia, Eastern Kentucky,
Tennessee and Alabama. He died in 1840 in Morgan
My grandmother Elizabeth Thompson born 1887 and died 1962 married William Hughes in 1908, Toxteth Park Liverpool. Elizabeth's parents were William Thompson and mother Margaret (surname unknown) and had at least 8 children.
If anyone recognises this family, please contact me.
Kind regards

Kathy,
Yes they are from South Carolina but I don't know where.
Are your Thompson's from South Carolina and does Abner ring any bells?
Thank you,
Carlena

I just sent an email requesting all Thompsons
with relatives from or near Eureka Springs, Arkansas to contact me.
However, I would like those from around
Joplin, Missouri, also.
My Grandfather's brother moved to Joplin
and operated a store or gas "station".
The brother's name was William or "Will" or
"Bill" Thompson, born Jan. 1, 1881.
Was probably in Joplin sometime after 1900.
I am trying to find out who their father's father
was.

Betty, Thanks so very much for the information, I just got it. I've been
working way to much lately. I don't konw of Yearby Thompson would he be a
realitive. That name was Shelby. If not mistaken Fie's death certificate says he was
born in AL. But if TN that would help explain why Shelby and and I believe some
of the others moved from AL back to TN.
Do you have
any information on Charlotte Lou Smith a
Last year I made an inquiry about my ancestor John W. Thompson who was
born in Halifax Co., VA Dec 14, 1798. One of you very kindly e-mailed
me and offered to check Halifax Co. records. You found records that a
William Thompson married Polly Watlinger[sp] and had a son John who was
born about the date of my John. You also gave me information about a
Grief Ferguson who lived near them. Grief rode to GA with John W. in
the early 1800's. I had all of this information stored in my computer

Carlena,
My Taylors (as far back as I can go) starts with Benjamin F. Taylor born
in Va about 1805.
He married Lovey (Lovy) Jeffries in Jasper County, Ga. They had several
children; one being John C. Taylor who married Ida Ardella (Dolly)
Thompson, daughter of Edward P. Thompson. These Taylors moved several
times. Once in Brooks County, Ga, they sort of moved back and forth
between Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. For the most part, I think they
finally considered Randolph County, Ga their home.
On Sun,
Hello list, I am searching for anyone with knowledge of the above. Agnes was born 10/15/1864 in Russelville, Ohio, married Charles Henry JOHNSON 9/10/1885 and then deceased 11/1892 probably in Canton, Illinois. I am interested in anyone whom may have her in the Thompson family. Please email me if you have a connection.
Thanks in advance for any RAOK.- Kenny

What you are about to read, if you chose, is some advice that is not new
to any who have been doing this for a while. We have all been there and
done it ...and we have gotten our fair share of help from more
experienced genealogical researchers ...share the knowledge, share the
time, and it all comes back in "spades!"
First off, let's get to the basics, and forgive me if you have already
done this, but I have to repeat it over to myself so as to keep my pea
brain on track. Start with yourself and head back
Went down to Brimfield and Woburn to see if I could dig up any rellies
for myself. You all did such a good job that I was without much to do
when I got there.
I was impressed by the friendliness of the "Massachusettians," if there
is such a word. They were very appreciative of the "stuff" you all
forwarded to me and which I presented to them.
I was very, very surprised that the Brimfield Library is working on an
extremely limited budget and is very short staffed. It is only open for
a few hours a day, i

Betty, Thanks so much for you help! Except for the age (which coul be wrong)
of Charlotte I would say that may be them. I checked my records and I know she
had a sister named Belle Bennett who lived in Kelso TN. The death certificate
for Charlotte says she was born 3-5-1872 Lincoln Co. TN. But it gives only
Bill Smith for father and Laura Faultner for mother both born TN but not dates
of any kind. I Sencerely Thank you again, and everyone else for all your help.
